I have a passion for playing minors and oddity powers, and my god what could be more of an oddity than the rebels themselves! Its so fasicinating to watch the revolutionary system from the opposite spectrum. Awesome AAR.

A catalogue of failure at the moment. Rebels seem so much more successful when you're fighting them. Well at least Khiva is a success, of sorts.

Playing the rebels isn't easy, as you'll lose all your troops in "enemy" territory once the government collapses :( But if thet rebel with just a few hundred men you get annoyed rather quickly, especially if it's the same province over and over again.

Today Khiva, tomorrow the world! Of course that might be a tall order given that the most promising period of revolutionary fervour has passed...

China has the Taiping Rebellion and the Boxer Rebellion, India will suffer from some uprising in 1857, IIRC. Nationalism in the Balkans in 1851/2 and 1870 Then there is the 'Socialist Revolution' in 1890-1900, IIRC. The great advantage is the AI sucks at militancy management.

(Should have played with VIP)

Wooho, Khiva..

Atleast you didn't let the british get Jamaica freely! :D

I should have trained more troops, though. Especially since the Brits and the Yanks were at war with each other.

Even if the rebels are not making many gains in terms of land, they certainly are having an impact with regards to casualties. That's a frightening number of dead on Jamaica. . . With time you may work your opponents into exhaustion.

Unfortunately, it doesn't work that way. Officially I'm not at war with them so I can't rise their exhaustion and increase their rebellions. Although it might have affected the British-American war.

Success indicated as an afterthought... :p

I believe I had a record amount of rebels pop up, but only one was successful, and it even wasn't THAT successful.

More rebellions, more uprisings, more rebel defeats. Khiva being the one bright spot. Still, really entertaining.

You know everytime I read "Rebel Scum" I think about the part in Return of the Jedi where...uh...never mind. :eek:o :

I enjoyed the defeats more as our successes :eek:o I mean, how often can you inflict 22,000 losses against the British with only 1 division... Sure Khiva is nice, but it'll be gone rather soon...

Thank you. As I wanted to do something completely new, I decided to see how the Rebels would play. With some slight modifications I could play as them, and enjoyed it greatly (free divisions!)

hopefully those chinese rebellions will be of some use. but the Chinese have a lot of divisions, so they most likely will clamp down hard on it.

What do we remember from the last episode? A lot of defeats and a success in Central Asia. Perhaps the next years will bring more success? At least not in the beginning, as the revolts in China experienced some early successes, but eventually were crushed.

The revolutionary council, getting restless by the setbacks in the past few years, decided to focus on the Caribbean. Cuba and Puerto Rica, two islands close to Hispaniola were cited as excellent options, especially as Spain isn’t that strong.

Cuba fell quickly to the revolutionaries, but the Spanish managed to occupy Haiti quickly. A temporary setback in the greater scheme of things. Troops from Cuba were transported back, but were unable to push the Spanish back. Fortune was on our side, as the French signed an alliance with Spain, bringing them in the war against us, but also dragging Spain in the Crimean War, and the Spanish troops withdrew from Hispaniola.

A slight setback occurred on Cuba, as the French managed to liberate Havana from us, but from the same island, several Spanish counter-attacks were repulsed causing at least 60,000 Spanish losses against at most 6,000 revolutionary deaths.

With 2/3 of Cuba in our hands, an assault was launched on the last remaining Spanish position in the Western Hemisphere: Puerto Rico. With out much resistance the island fell to us. As the Revolution was sweeping throughout the Caribbean, the people of the British Isles Trinidad and Tobago threw off the British yoke.

Trinidad and Tobago wasn’t the only victory over the British. With the Crimean War raging on and India virtually emptied of British troops, the people of Sind rebelled against the British and within a month they had liberated the area around Hyderabad.

Excellente! :D

Yea, rebel scum! Hey with all of the success in the Caribbean, when do we get to see Pirates?!:D

This is awesome; I hope it returns soon. May the Scum continue to prosper!

I hope it comes back too, but it has been almost four months,... :(

how do you play as rebels?
