Dunno if this is very realistic or not, but anyway:

Would it make sense if a province (being looted recently) had a larger chance (lower MTTH) of any local rebellion ending? It would either represent forcing the rebels back to work, lest they want their families to starve because of the farm being pillaged and in dire need of attention, or some other harsh means of forcing the population to get in line.

Likewise, I'm also wondering if it would make sense to apply a similar modifier to the religious heresy/conversion events, as well as the cultural conversion ones.

(of course, the AI would then have to be told to pillage its own provinces if the character is cruel and the province differs from him, or if the character is zealous/crusading and the population is heretical/heathen, and the AI is not in tight need of the money lost)

At the very least, it would allow us to actively do something in the short term to influence the events named above, rather than just make long-term plans and preparations for such circumstances...

But perhaps I'm just still confused from the "cold" I've just experienced outside... crazy and/or confused thoughts usually surface when you're frozen, after all.

I think this would be great idea. I don´t like it that currently the only way to end a revolt is to suck up the rebels and agree to their demands, doesn´t sound quite Medieval to me.

I like the idea. Byakhiam and I talked this over on IRC and he thinks he can script it quite easily.

On a side note, has anyone ever gone for the 'b' option in the revolt ending event? Aside from RPG purposes, the option seems competely useless to me.

Well, sure, but everyone knows historical feudal lords always bent over backwards to give in to the demands of rebels. ;)

Do you refer to having it make revolting provinces surrender more quickly (revamp of old event or a new one), or all of the things I suggested, or some but not all of them?

Planning an alternate event to end revolt. If you want to have being looted have effect in cultural conversion, you could suggest it in the reworking 9007 thread.

Actually substantial uprisings usually were ended by a combination of both options. Some demands would be conceded to remove the cause of unrest, and some ringleaders would be executed to emphasise who was still in charge.

personally I've always felt that there should be more options to ending a revolt other than simply giving in.

I.e. "Our spies have discovered the ringleaders" (or somesuch)
option a) Execute them.
- % Zealous
- lose Gold
- end revolt

b) Let them go.
- % merciful
- % coward

Or: "We have the rebel army cornered"
a) Kill them all
- Province set to poor
- revolt ends
- % cruel

b) Go for the ringleaders
- % revolt ends (can this be done?)
- % merciful

c) Don't have to time to waste chasing peasants
- Prestige

3 is a nice round number for the amount of events i think. Of course, the MTTH would have to be much higher for them all. so that they didn't all fire all the time.
The exact text and conditions/rewards needn't be what I've said (they're suggestions only) but its always been odd that there is only one way to deal with peasents and that was to give in them. Also, if one gives into them, shouldn't they get more power? Just a thought.

P.S. sorry to go OT.

Revolts end by province events and adding traits by province events is impossible with current event commands.

Oh, absolutely, and I don't want to see us go to an EU-system of "the only way to deal with revolts is to shoot the rebels with muskets". But it's extremely silly that it is currently inconceivable that a sensible monarch would do anything but give into rebel demands every chance he gets.
