@Asalto

I was going to say "lightly defended" Burma looked like a trap to me, but I guess you found that out, huh?
The situation against the Bolshevik empire in Moscow seems to be looking up already! You have military control over the Mittleleuropan allies, right?

Finally, it's a damn shame about Okinawa; it didn't look that heavily defended to me, but I suppose if your assault fleet got intercepted, it's a moot point. But I know you'll punish those schismatics, traitors, and Yamato-in-varying-states-of-denial yet!

Why, yes, AI is full of surprises. I thought that empty Rangoon was result of its stupidity, but it fact it proved to be a very cunning plan. As for Mitteleuropa, I relinquished military control when the war started, I've only positioned allied divisions for the invasion but then left the AI to handle it. Even EAA forces are hard enough to control due to their numbers, so I'm glad that Mitteleuropa AI is behaving in relatively sane way.

Finally, it's a damn shame about Okinawa; it didn't look that heavily defended to me, but I suppose if your assault fleet got intercepted, it's a moot point. But I know you'll punish those schismatics, traitors, and Yamato-in-varying-states-of-denial yet!

Okinawa shall remember the times when the kings of Ryukyu Islands were paying tribute both to Ming/Qing court and Satsuma Domain/Tokugawa Shogunate!

I guess that's also what Mr. Miyagi was really refering to...

Interesting. Seems that would be Germany and Mitteleuropa to make the difference. True the EAE would take her well deserved share, but in case of victory, the devil and the tigress would have to keep longer they both may have planned the ambivalent relation with Berlin... The feeling is China overstimated herself and understimated Germany and Mitteleuropa.

Naturally, always if the Entente... Hmmm.

@Kurt_Steiner To be frank, I find the option where I get trashed by super-aggressive AI quite attractive for some reason. It would give the story some bitter but enjoyable defeatist flavor. Also makes space for a scene containing one last tragic charge against the omnipotent enemy. But not many would probably feel sorry for (anti)heroes of this story, so it's better to carry on in hope of achieving ultimate dystopia!

@IconOfEvi Maybe they'll find some time for such operation as well.

@RyuDrago I kinda expected EAA will be able to waltz trough Siberia but it looks like Germans will get past the Urals first at this pace...quite embarrassing for Nanjing!

I apologize for lack of updates, there's a lot of RL work to do, but I'll try my best to push this trough. Also, this update will be quite short and of more narative type, I hope you don't mind it.

Nanjing
A distant sound of machine tools could be heard from above the Tefel's office. The workers were fixing the roof that suffered substantial damage from suicide bombing raid of Korean People's Army Air Force, but fortunately this attack did not damage the palace interior that was well protected by several layers of reinforced structures. Nanjing air defense was taking down intruding objects like cruise missiles and enemy planes that dared to enter what was probably the world's most protected airspace with about 95% success, but this was obviously still not enough. Fortunately, what managed to came trough also wasn't sufficient to seriously damage strategic structures in the capital of East Asian Empire.

Tu-95_Bear_D_zpscmzfbhrq.jpg
Soviet Tu-95 Bear turboprop-powered strategic bombers were spared from risky actions above well-defended territories, but their ability to serve as the cruise missile platform was used for indirect attacks with impunity. Inability of Nanjing air defense to intercept massive salvo of such attacks provided an oportunity for precise attack of Korean fighter-bombers that raided Teufel's palace in attempt to eliminate the leadership of East Asian Empire. However, this suicide mission that resulted in eventual destruction of low-flying squadron by anti-air fire.

The reception hall in front of Generalstatthalter's office was a definition of ordered chaos, with elegant female clerks handling never-ending calls and documents while the officers of Teutonic appearance were standing at attention in their black uniforms and polished boots, never leaving hapless visitors out of their sight. Leang did not like the new Germanic appearance of Viceroy's office. Teufel's baroque taste that used to resemble a decadent Sino-German Cantonese mix has somehow evolved into more classicist European style. In her eyes, he was taking the role of Kaiser's Viceroy too seriously. On the other hand, Leang's Chancellor's office was now strongly resembling traditional Chinese Mandarin court or yamen. When the ministers were passing from Viceroy's office to Chancellory, they could feel like they entered a new world. Instead of Prussian cavalry sabres, there was a variety of antique Chinese arms; instead of portraits of German emperors and AOG governors, there were lavish drawings from Chinese mythology; both offices could not feel any more culturally apart. Yet, they represented the two heads of the goverment of East Asian Empire.

- Generalstathalter, situation in Europe and America is evolving at great pace - reported heavily-decorated EAA officer during the war room meeting.

In response, Teufel has cracked a joke - I surely hope Germans are not doing too well in Russia.

- That'd be too bad, I know how much you wish to cross the Urals with your Asian hordes and save the Fatherland - added Leang.

Teufel didn't seem to understand the Leang's statement in such a lighthearted manner, changing the subject instead. - Continue with your report.

- Yes, Generalstathalter. German Great General Staff is reporting that Ryazan is about to fall in hands of allied forces any moment. The clutches around Moscow are slowly closing. We're unsure if Moscow is going to be surrounded so easily, but the fact is that the Heer being on the doorstep of the Soviet capital.

- What can I say, this can't be bad. We only need to make a bigger push against Red China as well, or we'll be bordering Kaiserreich at Samarkand or Irkutsk pretty soon.

- About that, Sir...with Germans at the gates of Moscow, situation has changed in geopolitical reality as well. Canadians are worried that European balance of power is crumbling. That's why they have taken certain steps...

lend%20lease_zpsj9mdjfbi.png

- North American Lend-Lease program for the Syndies?!? Has Trudeau gone mad?

- Our sources say that for now, direct assistance will be provided only to the Union of Britain, with London being free to act as middleman for the rest of Internationale. I doubt Canadians want to lose their cargo ships to German U-Boots somewhere in the Barents Sea. Instead, they will be providing old ships to British merchant navy to do this job for them. German Abwehr managed to grab some interesting information from North American ports. Recent pan-American ban on the Friends of German Empire organization in North America has pushed many of its low-profile sympathizers into underground, providing Abwehr with oportunity to enlist many individuals that are operating in the facilities like the shipyards of New York or automotive plans in Great Lakes area for the discreet informant tasks.

- Very well, I hope that German Americans will be liberated from Canadian yoke one day. I knew that what was left of American statehood can not be trusted. That Canadian kindergarten in North America is almost as annoying as the unfified USA would be. I can't wait to see the day when German and East Asian troops will sweep America from coast to coast, taking care of meddling pseudo-states and their pathetic Canadian masters once and for all!

- You're getting ahead of yourself, Dietrich - responded Leang - Let's win the land war in Asia first.

- Should we repons, Sir? - asked the reporting officer - I mean, should we contact our allies to coordinate further actions?

- Do you think I can force Berlin to declare war against the Neo-Entente?! They didn't even dare to avenge the fall of French Kingdom!

- Or we could do it on our own and drag the Germans with us - interfered the young Imperial Secretary Graf von Thale who was not anything like his deceased father which as Resident Minister cared for interests of German Empire with all his heart.

- Let's do it! - yelled security minister Duterte - Americans can go to hell! Have the Germans take care of Europe, we can take entire Australasia in the meantime! We'll show those sons of ******* who is the boss here...

- We will do nothing with ze consent of ze Kaiser! - responded propaganda minister Heinrich Jingwei.

- Alright, everyone calm down - Generalstathalter Teufel has finally pulled the break - We are going to swallow this and wait for the moment when we get stronger. We can't win this with PLA still being at the gates of Beijing.

- What are your orders, Sir?

- Put U-Boots on alert for suspicious cargo vessels in Pacific and Indian Ocean. We must also take care of Ryukyus as soon as possible, they are British foothold in East Asia. Let's see if Canadians and Californians will dare to load supplies on British vessels in their own ports after we take care of this threat. Maybe they'll even resort to supplying Soviets in Vladivostok directly...in this case, we won't hesitate sending even a largest ship of the Royal Canadian Navy to the bottom of the sea.

Oh, this will make a lot of sense pretty soon. Ottawa is also not being ruled by British exiles for decades now. It's pretty much Taiwanized RoC instead of the last fort of vengeful exiles that are constantly scheming how to retake the mainland from the vile rebels.

In any case, it makes as much sense as Reagan helping the USSR to invade Afghanistan, England becoming buddies of Napoleon after 1809 or the French allying with England to defeat Burgundy after 1415. Your AAR, your story..

I'm guessing Trudeau is a secret Syndie then? I mean if Angie shifted Left then maybe Trudeau has gone even more off the deep end here than he has in reality.

And even if not the idea of the UK/UK-Remnant trying to stop a monolithic super power to act against it isn't out of touch with reality or out of character for a British influenced foreign policy.

It make some sense, but as mentioned by him we'll likely see more.

I totally understand your point, but unholy alliances are also not historically uncommon. After all, USA has allied with Maoist China against the Khrushchevite USSR. And in comparison between these two, de-Stalinized Soviet regime was pretty much a picnic of fairy godmothers in comparison to Maoist camp that featured horrendous group like the Red Khmers. In this universe, Trudeau is actually chosing moderate/democratic socialist UoB over the neo-reactionary Sino-German bloc that is about to unify most of Eurasia under its rule. And that is a red alert for any oceanic power, be it Britain or America. Even Halford Mackinder would probably endorse it as unified Eurasian bloc that can pose a geopolitical threat to insular forces would ring all alarm bells for him. Funny thing is that Kissinger is German citizen in this universe and would be ironically most likely a German-centric Eurasianist.

Trudeau in this universe is still somehow comparable to Obama as US president IOTL (while TTL Obama of Great Lakes Republic is a bit more populist), and he most likely sees UoB like Obama was seeing Cuba in his pragmatic reconciliation attempt IRL (isolate Havana from Venezuela, Russia and China by pushing for economic cooperation that should eventually lead to political reforms, at least in theory).

Also, I really wonder who is the head of North American diplomatic mission in London...

North American envoy to London Bernie Sanders and Chairman of the Trade Union Congress of the Union of Britain, Jeremy Corbyn.

And you've all got to remember that Ottawa is operating on the time-honored British foreign policy doctrine of Germania delenda est

KING CUCK STRIKES AGAIN! Fuck, even in AARland we can't get away from him.

That said, it's not so farfetched. I mean, that's pretty much what it seemed like in Rhodesia, the motherland helping Marxist states. Oh well.

Also, about their decorum stylings - this isn't hinting that Leang and Teufel are starting to drift apart, are they? :(

@IconOfEvi Hopefully, it's not about some kind of political split. At least for now, it seems to be a more of cultural thing. You know, Teufel getting so ambitious that he actually sees himself as some kind of Sino-German Emperor that should rule everything that lies between the Berlin and Beijing. And probably some things beyond that as well.

Thanks for comments, everyone!

Due to dire situation on the battlefield, the Soviet Red Army has approved the general service of female volunteers for combat duties as well. The propaganda photo op featuring three important Soviet officials gazing from the Kremlin office at the distant strikes was supposed to depict the steadfastness of the top leadership of Soviet Republic that decided to remain in Moscow in spite of enemy being at the very gates of Soviet capital. However, the body language of three supreme executives was not really giving an impression of solid defiance. From left to right are standing: Premier Cherdenko, Marshal Krukov (who is holding office of the People's Commissar for Military and Naval Affairs), and Dr. Zelinsky as a head of State Planning Committee (Gosplan).

That front in northern China is actually looking pretty good! You've almost divided the PLA between Uyghurstan, Inner Mongolia, and Manchuria. The Himalayan front, on the other hand, looks kind of precarious.
