A suspicious April 1st Crash

I have a busted save file.

I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else. Everything was moving along nicely at a decent pace for my empire and suddenly the game crashes. At first I thought, well just one of those bugs in a brand new system, but its a little specific. I load the save file and it starts at 01.01.2358. I play through the year then as soon as it hits 04.01.2358, the whole game crashes out. I've restarted, I've tried not clicking options, clicking options and anything else that I could (including trying it in the experimental branch) but each time the game crashes out. I took a video of it (attached below)

I was gonna just write off the save file to the books, but I told my wife about it and she was like it sounds like someone making an April fools joke. It would be hilarious if its true, but I'm curious if its just an odd coincidence or something more.

That really depends on which side of the Atlantic you make your residence doesn't it?

Since the game lists dates in the order of YYYY.MM.DD and the OP has used another order altogether, it is safe to assume that he has used one with which he is accustomed. Further assuming that he is not an idiot: April first.

The thing is, if any of you over there were able to pay attention and be objective, most of you behave the way you are fond of accusing Americans of doing. While the off-topic drama is useful for those who enjoy it (I'm usually one of those), it doesn't matter as it's a GAME date.

On the topic, I had a weird crash yesterday as well, except mine was on 03.01.2256 (that will be the 1st of March), I think. Reinstall didn't help, I ended up deleting it.

Just for drama's sake, it's the first of April, as these usually occur at the start of a month. Have seen a couple of posts about similar crashes, but didn't pay attention as it hadn't happened to me. Joke's on me.

-that meme is a trash (btw it's not, see what I did there)
-or that Europeans are (which looks like what you really meant to say but then again you imply that mm/dd/yyyy format make sense so I cannot be sure).

As to the OP: I don't think there is any code intentionally crashing your game on April 1st. It is most likely a calculation performed on the first of the month causing the crash, and it just happened to be April this time.
