There should be a 6th map, a voting map, which indicates the political affiliations of a providence, which will allow you to move your troops to trouble spots during an election.

This will also allow you to know how your political events will effect the choices your population makes.

Revolt risk basically works this way as it shows which places have 1 or more pops with over 7 militancy. Those people usually vote commie, reactionary or Anarcho Liberal.

This reminds me that I wish there wasn't such a cut and dried difference between angry "extremists" and moderates in this game. But then, the ideological system is too simple overall anyway.

fascist works a bit different, in that it can draw from both liberal and conservative-base POPs depending on what their primary issues are and their workforce - soldiers and officers in particular tend to be ripe for fascism as an ideology

And fascism is not always a radical choice, depending on game environment POPs with low militancy will become fascist if for example you have core territories under the control of another nations, sparking irredentism.
