Been playing a lot of stellaris recently and been playing as a very secretive empire so I close borders to every other race. It would be helpful to have some more options when you first meet a new civilisation. Like closing borders or non aggression pacts so you don't have to go through the diplomacy screen to find the civilisation in question. Just a little time saver to make the game better

Adding some first contact events can also be really cool. For example opening fire by mistake or help with pirates in first contact phase. Or have aliens warn you about their neighbors or dangerous systems upon establishing contact. Or they can lie to you, forcing you to attack Fallen Empire's patrol ship and so on.

It can add some flavor, especially at mid game, when all new contacts are just the same.

ye should be otpions where you can to refuse all non agression packs. It can be so annoying when there is a crisis and everone gets + 100 or + 200 threat and suddenly want to me my friends! keeps beeping asking for defence packs ect but i hold grudges i can still rememver the war 100 years ago :)
but ye should be able to auto deny all treaties, auto close borders on new contact
