Chapter One; There And Back Again.

Part one; To Byzantion.

The Marshalship.
Something I didn't expect to receive, yet received.
A blessed thing, it is.
But being sent away to Byzantion to train the Basilius troop', I've received many good reports.

The first reports, are of a good sort.
My secondary wives bore me two separate daughters, born half a year apart. Nothing great here, other then I can secure great alliances in the future.

About two years after my marriage to Furuzan ( 1068 now. ) I received two reports. My wife, Furuzan, had apparently born the man of a Greek courtier in my court..
But then I had received another report that my third wife Duchess Garyphallia had given birth to the child, but Furuzan was the one who had born it as well? Sorting it out after wards, I banished the first messenger from my lands. Divorcing my wife Garyphallia, and sparing the idiot Crysanthios. He is a talented commander, and that is the only reason I let him live. Shows how much confusion happens in the Steppe's, and I will not be looked to as a fool by fellow Cuman's.

Three years after the marriage to Furuzan, I was finally given a son. My son Asep, I named him. Maybe one day, he will rise to become a great Kuman. Only time will tell.

Part two; To Byzantion

A year after my son being born, I returned to Kherson. I was disappointed to learn that not all of the population was Muslim yet, the majority still Orthodox. However, Asalup was on his way. Using the Ducal Claims that the Byzantion's have, I declared war against the Rurikovich, for Korchev. This was a great opportune time, as another son of mine had been born, him a year younger then Asep. Mustering up the dominantly Greek army, as migrations from Cuman's has yet to be fulfilled, I gathered my force towards Korchev.

Quickly leading my army towards Neapol, our forces clashed with the Rurikovich. In an easily decisive battle, our troops destroyed the Rurikovich. No suprises there.

Great news had reached us on the warfront. Not only did we siege Panticapea after a few months of siege, but as the day dawned, a messenger from Kherson had arrived. A new son was born to me, my third son, from my recent third wife.

A year later, the troops worn out, the war was won. Starting from after the siege of Panticapea, I recruited some mercenaries to fill the remaining ranks. These mercenaries did prove to be an assest, as with their help we won the siege. Some time before we took the province, the Cuman's across the sea took Tmutarakan from the Rurikovich. I will not insult the martial abilities of the Terteroba, but they do love to seize land from others when there backs are turned.

Part Three; To Mecca

Finally. After the war is over, I've decided of much thinking. With the Byzantines still fighting Alp Arslan for Aremenia, Asalup hard at work to convert our people, and my little young Kuman's growing up, I will journey to the Land of Allah, to the Land of the Prophet, to Mecca, for my Hajj. Of course, Asalup will be my regent. He was delighted to hear of my journey to Allah's land.

A few days on voyage, and we are stopped by Christian Pirates.. Preying upon innocent Muslims who wish to make the Hajj as I will for Allah. As a Doux of Kherson should, as any pure worshipper of Allah would, I slew them, showing them that being an infidel, or at least, preying upon innocents, is the wrong way to go.

A few weeks after, I've arrived outside the gates of Mecca, and have made an encampment with my men who journeyed with me to Mecca. A messenger of mine arrives, reporting to me that a hated rival of mine, whom I can't remember why I hate him, is encamped along the trail. After consulting my thoughts and options, I've decided to put whatever made me hate him in the past. Going to his camp, we spent the better part of the afternoon together, exchanging stories of war, conquest, and intrigue, becoming good friends before nightfall. Subhan'Allah.

The next day, while coming back to camp, and old man had camped in the same area. As Allah preaches mercy for all, I gave the old man some bread. In return, he had told me an hours worth story about Abu Huraya. After listening, the most important of all those that he said was about Envy. Never shall I envy another man, instead I will let them envy me. Alhamdulillah!

Mecca. The Land of the Prophet Muhammad.. My eyes cannot gaze away from the sight of the Kabah. Having been in my white linen, equal among all men, I perform the Tawaf. Never have I felt more proud to be alive, then I did at this moment. In the name of Allah, Allah is Great, Allah is Great, Allah is Great, and praise be to Allah'. And again, at every circuit I came to, I would repeat those words. In the name of Allah, Allah is Great, Allah is Great, Allah is Great, and praise be to Allah'. Never have I been more proud, then here. After a good while of this momentous occasion, I began to relive what Ishmael's mother had went through. Running between those hills, was another experience, having never been done before. Not to mention the fact, that come nightfall, after having felt reborn, a report came that the water was unpure. This, during the prayer of Wudu, had upset me greatly. Allah' forgive me!

After a few days of travelling and prayer, I've left the city of Mecca. I've rode out on from my companions, who are still doing what they must do, I've come across a caravan, the luxuries of it picked away by scavengers, the food eaten by rats and vultures, and the family bloodied and decaying. Sad it is, that other Sunnah's would pick apart our religious brethren. Insha'Allah.

The minute I was back in my home, I rested upon the ground. Thinking upon my journey, I realized that I, A Cuman, am now a Hajajj. Many have taken the Hajj before me, and many will take it after. I believe it is safe to say, that the future will be bright. For the Prophet Muhammad, For Allah, I have returned to my home.
