A Steppe For Cumanity : A Cuman AAR

Hello everyone! Well, after reading many AAR's in my lifetime, I've decided to start on my own. With SoI out, I decided why not.

Now here's my only problem. After spending a day or two thinking who I wanted to be, I've decided I will use Create a Ruler to replace the Greek Duke of Cherson with my own custom made Cuman. However, I do not know what religion to make him. That's why, I would like the readers to decide what religion I'll be. Either Catholic, Orthodox, or Islamic. No Pagan unfortunately.. So the first few posters should decide what religion I will take up.

A few things to state before I begin the AAR.
- I'll be posting the AAR in the reserved post either tomorrow or late tonight. Have a busy day today, and posting it beforehand so anyone who reads ( hopefully ) will post.
- This is my first AAR - So please, if I make any mistakes or anything plain just dumb, please correct me!
- I will be using CK2+ ( Mainly since TPATT isn't updated, yet. )
- I'll be roleplaying the characters according to what traits they get. If I have a tyrant, I'll play a tyrant, etc etc. On that note, I'll also send my heirs to be tutored by someone else of my culture. I will only tutor the youngest son, as a failsafe. Only if there's more then two, however.
- If I get badly beaten in a war, I will NOT restart. I will only load savegames if I crash. I'll be saving after a major event. ( Such as losing a war, heir dieing, etc etc. )
- I will be a Cuman Shi'a.

Prologue.

That is my family name.
A proud one, at that.
I was born in the Krimea, in the Cuman border, north of the Greek city of Kherson, in Dzhankoy, to the warrior Kobyak, and my mother, Kimchak.
For a long, long time.. Since before the devastation of the Rus Pereiaslav, a war in which my peoples Pride themselves on, even one which I participated onto.
My father, was executed by the murderous Khagan Saru Terteroba.. I will be sure to enact my vengeance before his, or even my, own death.
I will destroy the Tertoroba Khagan.. Spread my Shi'a faith over to my good-bearing Steppe people's.. And destroy the corrupt Rhomanion..
It will be a Steppe For Cumanity.

I think seeing Catholic Cumans would be fun, but since that's not gotten any nods, I'll say that Muslim is my second choice and the one which I officially register.

Chapter One; Humble Beginnings. 1066;


Here I am. While being raised as a child, my father taught me much of warfare, conquest, and ambitions as a young nomad.
Of course, I gathered all he would teach me and put it into my own form, into my own people's ranks.
For this, I decided to stage a coup. Of course, no free Cuman would stand to serve under the Greeks, so with my few friends, and allies that my father built, I had decided to take over Kherson.
Which I did.

However, being in between the murderer of my great Father, and the corrupt Rhomanion, I had to choose someone to serve, lest I take an arrow through my skull.
The choice would be a difficult one, and I decided to choose just the latter; To the '' Basilieus '' as he calls himself.
He welcomed me, whether or not this was wanted, or unwanted, he had no choice, with the man known as Alp Arslan overcoming his lands, having
no troops to spare on myself. Praise Allah, for Allah's mercy on my people, and especially, me.
The only downside of this.. I am called a Doux, by the laws of this, Empire.​

This, is the greatest man I've known. Asalup of Doros.
The reader of this journal, would do well to remember his name.
Asalup, not only my closest friend, closest adviser, and to all of my realm, is the man responsible for inditing Allah into my heart..
In the year of 1062, just a year after my father's death, and the raid upon the 'Rus, he had seen me, working idly by, and say my father had funded his venture onto the Land that is called Holy. Why this is, I do not know. Maybe I will have to see it myself one day. But, this man shall be my greatest asset, and urges me to my most.
As we speak, he is out in the fields of my realm, trying to convert many Cumans and Greeks to our True Faith. A wise man, indeed.




Here she is, my lovely wife. I had become one with her, just today. Not only are we of the same age but she is a lustful girl too.. I already know this will be a great idea. She is a smart girl in the art of warfare, for some odd reason, but nevertheless I will call on her council for some time.
Unfortunately, she is a little absent-minded on faith, and follow's the Sunnah. I will change that, soon enough.
She is, a Persian girl, as well. I would have rather married a nice Cuman woman, but of course, my faith allows me many wives.. Which I will take upon with great fervor.




Here, is an oddly amazing map of my lands and the surrounding area's drawn by again, the great man Asalup. In the color he calls purple, is my lands. He draws them as such because we unfortunately, serve the Rhomanion. To the east, lies the Count of Korchev.. A Russian Rurikovich. My eyes are already on him, as by the '' de jure '' laws of these Rhomanions, those lands are apart of my official Douxy. To the north, are of course, the Cuman's, an amazing people, but their leader is a fool and tyrant. To the West of the Cuman's, are my Kipchak cousins. They are the Pechenegs, a People's I hope to maintain great relation's and marry into someday.

For now, I shall end this journal here for a time. My reports are telling me of a chance to take down a certain Count and I would be a fool not to take this. For now, I shall leave this at a standstill..​

There's the first Chapter, a short one. That was just, another introduction, introducing the surrounding land's and other's, and now I'll begin playing. I'll be posting another update either tonight, or tomorrow morning, this time, a lengthy one. Anywho, can anyone tell me how to increase the size of the pictures? As it stands, the picture's make the post look very small.. Something I don't want.

Thanks. I would've made him not 16 years old, but the Real Ruler Designer mod doesn't allow it. It only allows you to be 16.

I already have the next chapter ready, just have to put the SCRN's down, but I'm not going to be able to do it till' later today, perhaps 6-8 Est.
