The Coptic faith may not be very prominent, with few provinces and nations, but it would still be nice if it had at least the smallest amount of flavour (currently it has none). To that end I propose the following 3 events (plus 3 cleanup events) and 1 decision:

Events:

The Coptic Pope

Triggers: state religion is Coptic, owns Cairo, Cairo is Coptic, at peace, can only fire once, MTTH of 12 months

The Pope of the Coptic Orthodox Church of Alexandria is the successor of Mark the Evangelist and, as first among equals, the senior bishop of the Coptic Church. Ever since the Muslim conquest of Egypt in 639 the Coptic Pope was forced to concede to heathen rule.

No more is this the case, as Cairo, the seat of the Coptic Pope is once again firmly in the hands of the faithful Christians. With the patriarchal seat of Alexandria restored to the Coptic Church, the process of bringing all of North Africa back into arms of Christianity can be taken up with increased effort.

May it be Christian until the Day of Judgment
Gain 10 Prestige, Cairo gets The Coptic Pope modifier until 1821

The Coptic Pope (modifier)
+1% missionary strength, -10% local development cost
Ever since 1047 Cairo has been the seat of the Coptic Pope – the spiritual guide of the Coptic Church

The Coptic Church loses its status

Triggers: state religion is not Coptic, Owns Cairo, Cairo has The Coptic Pope (modifier)

With the Coptic Church no longer serving as our state religion the authority of the Coptic Pope wanes, as he once again becomes a mere subject of our rule.

The Coptic Pope is of no concern to us, anymore
Remove The Coptic Pope (modifier) from Cairo

Restore the Monastery of Saint Anthony

Triggers: state religion is Coptic, owns Ras Gareb, at peace, can only fire once, MTTH of 120 months

The Monastery of Saint Anthony, established in 356, is the oldest still-functioning Christian monastery. It serves as a major repository of Coptic scriptures and welcomes visitors of all creeds. The monastery has, however, seen better days and it is now a mere shadow of its full glory. By funding the restoration of the monastery, we can once again make promote it as a major pilgrimage destination and religious centre.

Help restore the monastery
-10% yearly income, Ras Gareb gains The Monastery of Saint Anthony (modifier) until 1821

Let it crumble
-2 prestige

The Monastery of Saint Anthony (modifier)
+10% religious unity, -2 local unrest
The Monastery of Saint Anthony is the oldest and most prominent of Coptic monasteries

The Monastery of Saint Anthony fades into the desert

Triggers: state religion is not Coptic, Owns Ras Gareb, Ras Gareb has The Monastery of Saint Anthony (modifier)

With the Coptic faith being abandoned in favour of a different religion the Monastery of Saint Anthony shall no longer receive support from the state.

Let the monks take care of themselves
Remove The Monastery of Saint Anthony (modifier) from Ras Gareb

The Copts of Egypt

Triggers: state religion is Coptic, owns all of Egypt region, at peace, can only fire once, MTTH of 120 months

Owing to the efforts of Mark the Evangelist and his successors Egypt has been a major stronghold of Christianity in Africa since the second century. The Muslim conquest of Egypt in 639 has resulted in a slow process of conversion to the teachings of Mohammad among the locals, yet even now the Coptic population remains a major feature of Egypt's ethnic and religious landscape. With Christian population spread all over the land of the Nile, it should not be difficult for us to restore the Coptic Church to its place as a majority religion. Even now, as Christian rule has been restored in Egypt, its Christian population gives rise to a restoration movement.

Christianity shall return to Egypt
All non-Coptic provinces in Egypt gain Coptic Resurgence (modifier) for 25 years

Coptic Resurgence (modifier)
+2% local missionary strength
The Coptic population helps spread Christianity amongst the people of Egypt

Coptic Resurgence Ends

Triggers: state religion is not Coptic, any province has Coptic Resurgence (modifier)

As the Coptic Church no longer enjoys the status of a state religion, the Coptic minority in Egypt does not help us in the conversion effort any more.

The Copts should keep to themselves
Remove Coptic Resurgence (modifier) from all provinces

Decision:

Promote monasticism

Requirements: stability 1, has advisor Theologian

The tradition of Christian monasticism can trace back its roots back to Saint Pathomius, the founder of the first monastery in Tabennisi in the early fourth century. Egyptian monasticism has been instrumental in the spread of the Coptic Church and to this day, even after centuries of Muslim rule, remains a defining aspect of our religion.

Gain modifier Promoting Monastic Tradition until 1821

Promoting Monastic Tradition (modifier)
+1% heretic missionary strength, +5% building cost
By promoting the establishment of Coptic monasteries we help spread the right interpretation of the teachings of Christianity
