Precisely.Oh good, I was worried. An unbalanced dyson sphere is very likely to shift, putting one end closer to the sun's center of mass and causing it to shift even more off balance.

Numbers are 200, not final, it was admitted that the entire sphere thing is still being balanced. This was just supposed to be an a idea to be considered, but you see where we ended up.1) Can I please have a link to the final energy output of the Dyson sphere in the patch it is in?
You must have them in order to be able to suggest it is already wrong or needs balancing
There is no precise way of saying if it's balanced or not, as it's still WIP. This was supposed to be one of many possibile design solutions.Vasious said:2)What is making the Dyson Sphere not viable?
Since you have asserted your changes will make it viable for "everyone, everywhere"
Because "it's not out f*ck you" is not a valid argument when we talk about hypothetical design solution.Vasious said:3) Why do you feel anyone who disagrees is not cable of engaging you in debate, is this one of those things where you cannot imagine people actually having a legitimate reason to disagree with you?
The issue of market economy actively encouraging ecosphere destruction. On a serious note though, I already answered this question. This problem is balancing the sphere which is admitted to be still worked. Just an idea to be considered, nothing more. People could figure out if it's good or bad and so good devs (should they ever need that, of course). If you are about to say "BUT WHO SAID THEY NEED YOUR FILTH HEATHEN", well, nobody. They just look at the forum sometimes, that's it. Could've helped them if we had meaningful debate here... But yknow. What's done is done and besides, I don't really think I influenced your opinion. What problem are you trying to find a solution to?
My thread does describe in detail why I think it's good.Just seems odd to propose a solution to a problem you don't even know exist when you have had no way to test
anything.
So far you have "I think my solution is offers good game balance because I think my solution offers good game balance"
It's not imbalanced because it doesn't exist. Besides, I don't really have anything against other solutions...Vasious said:You have yet to say why the "non you solution" is imbalanced or not viable
I didn't say that the current implantation is bad, it's just WIP. It's not full or complete and the source is no other but dev stream.Vasious said:Why do I ask, because despite you saying you are just presenting a possible idea, you build your argument on that the current implementation is not balance and not viable and you solution fixes that but you have provided no evident.
Well, once again, if your argument in questioning me is "it's not out yet f*k you" then maybe, just maybe that person doesn't really want to discuss anything.Vasious said:Also seems odd to imply anyone questioning you is not interested in meaningful debate and characterising them as YELLING & INGNORATE
I actually don't label you anyhow, even despite I slightly taunted you. If I was to label you, you are the "going in for the kill" person, who will eventually get the most praise here (provided the thread won't sink faster) as the glorious white night who slayed all so horrible me in an uneven battle. Moving on, I don't say you can't change your mind, I say that I can't change your mind. And apparently, I am not wrong. And in the end, once again, I don't precisely see "this is not out, f@ck you" as a critique. Critique is something only two people did here and you're one of them, if you're curious.Vasious said:Why is me asking to show you working suddenly get me labelled in that group of ignorant yelling people who never change their mind, when you cant cope with a critique yourself and expect everyone to accept your solution on face value
Just don't forget to dislike! You can also report me for trolling/racism/rapist jokes, but that's optional.
B-but you pushed back our goal to get 50 dislikes...Now you did it, Brian. I'm liking your every post here now.
But if we didn't do that then this forum would be 90% less active!Just seems odd to propose a solution to a problem you don't even know exist when you have had no way to test
anything.
Let's party, my Blorg friend!Wow, hey, TwiceAHuman, I actually find your idea interesting.
The possibility that Dyson Sphere's output could vary depending on the energy "value" of the star could be a nice idea, the only problem is how you word it, it's too "This is wrong, I am right, all bow before my words".
Now don't get me wrong here, I'm not judging you based on this, after all you more than demonstrated that it wasn't your intent, and choose to laugh from everything that was thrown at you rather than getting angry, and you are more than open to discussion, but your title and your choice of words is, for the lack of a better term, poor.
The only thing I can recommend is rewriting your first post, make it more open, and if it's possible (I remember it isn't, but I might have been dumb enough not to notice the option) rename the thread.
Cordially, Playwars.
