In 1914 the Royal Navy figured that it must make sure its navy would have a even bigger advantage against German so the RN at great expense seized 2 battleships being made for Turkey and 2 battleships being made for Chile and upgraded then to British standard as well as converted 6 passenger/cargo ships into seaplane tenders. So to show this in game there would be an event that starting the day england declares war on Germany would allow the British player get three options; 1) pay X amount of cash which would put the UK at zero or a negative number with some of them going to chile for her ships, in return UK would get HMS Erin and HMS Agincourt and the six seaplane tenders (CVL in game)to deploy right away, then have two more events called maybe ships finish, in which in October 15 1915 HMS Canada could be deployed and February 1918 HMS Eagle as CV would be ready. As well as net some negative relations with the Ottomans
2) Would be just to seize the two ships from the Turks, which would cost much less like 75% then option 1 but still net negative relations from Turkey and lead to event where Chile gets its batteships
3) would say that its too expensive and the money could be spent better and seizing ships from Turkey would be a bad idea too. which would net a increase of relations to Turkey and give both Turkey and Chile its ships and give the UK money however the ships for turkey would most likely be used against England and would net some national dissent

Not sure if you've heard back from the developers, but I love these ideas. I love various events that add so much flavor to the game. The WiF mod was really good at adding such events which made you feel like you were playing more than just a game. Fernando Torres is now a DH developer, perhaps you can PM him with this idea?

As a kid I used to play the old Avalon Hill game, "Jutland" in which you'd setup the fleets on the floor and always thought that the Agincourt was the coolest ship with its 7 turrets. Sadly, my brother's High Seas Fleet would always kick my ass :(

In an earlier post here http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?536348-Decisions-and-events-for-the-Sultan-Osman-I-amp-Reshadieh-and-the-HMS-Canada&p=12381694&highlight=#post12381694 I made the same point.

However as I said then I believe that the two decisions should be taken separately or as a four option deal.

In 1914 the naval arms race in South America had died down and so Chile didn't particularly want the ships anymore previously offering one or both to Greece in November 1913. Thus the offer by the English To take the ships over was a easy decision to make. On the other hand the the Reshadieh and the Sultan Osman I were objects of national pride and the take over of those ships was not going to be welcome by Turkey. Aditionally to take into account was the fact that the Turkish ships were ready for sea while the Chilean ships were not.

So If I were scripting and event I would give the player the option to just buy the Almirante Latorre (HMS Canada) and her sistership the Almirante Cochrane (HMS Eagle). These ships were on the market so to speak and so taking them would be much easier diplomatically

Additionally I agree with the seaplane conversion idea In the game building the ships under the build queue is prohibitively costly and yet the were part of the Royal navy order of battle and made a somewhat serious contribution to the war in the form of there participation in action of the Harwich force and in the Mediterranean theater
