Following up an apology with a "should be strong enough to kick him" is a bit hollow, don't you think?
Kick me for what is the question. So far, all I've done is object to a ridiculous and unprecedented edit which was widely unpopular and regarded as personal on your part. Ah, yes, and I edited a solution to the BB as our GM made zero effort to correct it until minutes before the game.
It seems to have worked well, particularly when you take a look at a game that didn't-Hive took 5 civil wars in 5 years with less BB than the League. You're an absentee landlord, Drew-I hate GMing. But I've had no choice but step in on everything from major decision making to basic session organization. Finding subs. Getting people gathered. Dealing with absences (yours, for example). If you resent that, fine-all it took was coming to me and saying, "HG, I can and will do this stuff and I'd appreciate it if you took a back seat."
Like I said, I hate GMing. I would've gladly done it.
What I think really bothers you is that you've been unsuccessful this game, and your attempt to create a super power for yourself was widely objected. Surely, it can't be that I only favor edits that favor me-otherwise, I would've been all for an uber Kiev on Germany's border. Particularly with a warlord at the helm.
The truth is much simpler-I was opposed to this because it's never been done in a respectable game. Ever. I was opposed to this because it's self-defeating anyway, even if one doesn't object to the methods. I was opposed to this because your reasons were pretty delusional (for example-that you could take the HRE and conquer the world). I was opposed to this because it was self-interested and premised on analysis of the game that was simply wrong.
But more than that, I happen to think that a game is a game. This isn't like the BB-that was necessary to deal with a mid-game rules change. This is artificially strengthening countries solely because they're behind the frontrunners. I don't think that's appropriate under any circumstances.
And certainly not in a competitive environment. Apart from those directly benefiting, that seems to be the consensus. So in fact, what you're objecting to isn't fiat, but the lack of it.
Go ahead and bitch about my lack of reliability, but it's a smokescreen. You didn't get your way.Simple as that.
