Evil HG... what you did with Arnor, Morbidon and Bretagne... :)

As the emperor explained some time in the past, once Brittany was able to conquer all the british isles, their remaining french posessions could be given to Flanders, now Holy Roman Empire.

General Insidious Drew, renowned Defender of the Venetian Crown and Nobility displaced in a far away land, Georgia.

Leading up to these events:

The Italian Accords of 1419 divided Half of Italy at the Papalcy between Venice and Sicily, however the Venetians would discover that the Sicilians would not ever keep this end of the bargain, that they would re-write the Accords to only include Lands North of Po River excluding the prior Agreement infuriating Doge Nicolo, Carlo the 2nd who happened to be the son of a Leonese Nobleman...Venice sought to regain her Glory and break the ill treaty as Sicily expanded into Moroccan Territories, Venice was approached with a plan. One to take down Sicily. We proceeded and the Doge got cold feet peacing the Island to the South after Smashing Victories nearly taking the whole of Italy. North Africa was however taken by the Moroccans. You see the Presence of Large Amount of Dutch Troops on Northern Borders that and a personal letter from them claiming any further actions would be met with the Sword. Sadly Brittany had been convinced by Leon and Morocco to join the Frey and this Was precisely what Flanders wanted. Going on a Killing Spree, Venice would break her truce and Invade the Southern Portion of Holland. With a Willing Mecklemburg/Hungarian Alliance in the East we felt it possible to hold the Mighty Dogs of War at bey. No such luck, we would be left to fight alone most for the better part of a decade...

The Wars that proceeded left Venice in Utter Hell. Raging Storms, Torrential Downpours of Blood, Bitter Firey Hatred in the Eyes of the Venetian and Sicilian Armies. War was nonstop, in the Alps/Italian Pennisula/and in the Capitol, Thousands of Dutch, Sicilian and Venetians lost their lives. The Moroccan Foreign Expeditionary Legions came to the Aide of Venice but too little too late. The Missing presence of Advisor Temujin of Hungary would be an extra nail in the coffin of Venice. There was a lack of desire for any more war in the hearts of the Rest of the Monarchs of Europe. As far as Hungary The tattered ruins of his nations finances, no war and no expense could be spared to favour Venice. Nor could a clear picture of the Fog of war be ascertained having arrived nearly at the end of the rope. Venice would be left with a Huge War Debt, the loss of Much Land..

After the Dutch Wars, succession of Frankish Lands, most of Germany and the Heart of Italy would remain Loyal to the King Lodewijk. The poor General Drew would have in the absence of the Dutch attempt the Unification and Empowering act of Conquoring the Whole of Italia, and utter failure now moving to Georgia the Orthodox Minor in the East. A defeated Man, and leave Venice to Sicily and Flanders to divide the Spoils...

There he would set his heart on Expansion, slow and steady...1459

Arriving in a Far away Land Sir Drew would assume Control of the Georgian Capitol, with no real Goverment as Bagrat the IVth could do little more than arrange his own funeral which would take eons, luckily for us it would allow for much freedom to do what we wish in the Country. I took to building an Army, for one Sole purpose, conquor everything in sight. The biggest Goal was the Turkish Campaign. After Peacing and appeasing the Hungarian Giant to the North, I set my armies in Motion the Northern Branch vs the Crimeans and the Southern Branch vs the Ottomans, no Leaders, not a 1 amongst the hopeless Rabble.

We failed Hoplessly in the South, though held the Line from breaking, Our Brave Georgians fought for years and years. However in the North breakthoughs were made due to tactical errors on the side of the Crimeans, the Nation would be subjugated in two Wars.

The Turks however fought much more Bravely and with their General Aswar they were almost unstoppable for the better part of 20 years. No matter what we attempted they would have a counter, we would move into Ak Konyunlu and they would move in behind us to prevent our plan to encircle them. It seemed a demon possessed the Sunni Nation. Finally a breakthrough came, freeing the men of the Northern Armies, we could mass troops in all Turkish Provinces, throughout the Coastline use our Navy to ship in supplies from Allepo and overwhelm the Turks with Shear numbers. We didn't really want their lands and the Penatlies that went with them, but the war carried on so long that we needed gains of some form we captured Ankara and forced the Turks to give all their Lands to Georgia, later we shall annex them entirely to teach the World what Defiance means... Leaving them no as Vassals but soon to be Children of a Greater Cause.

In the North, Russia had conquored Kazan and other of our Interests with not so much as a hint of Offerings... Right near our Capitol nonetheless we shall prevail! We have fought hard to carve our small Empire and to the South Iraq rises Under a New Banner we hear the Ancient Flag of Mesopotamia will Rise once again there. We feel a part of a brotherhood. Marrying into the Reigns of Europe, plotting, waiting, researching many facets of Warfare. Throwing away the Exploration Star Charts and the Different ways tax a foreign merchant out of your Trade Centers. Picking of the Sword and waiting for the Day that Once Again the Sun Shines in the East and this I promise my friends it may not be tomorrow or a century from now, the East Shall Rise!

If there´s a possibility I would like my country to be renamed Thule.
If not, I think Union of Kalmar will do.

Of course, I will provide a history (AAR) as soon as I know if I can be Thule (or myabe Vinland, or Aesir or Aesgard :) ) or if I need to content myself with Union of Kalmar ;)

A report on the powers of Europe

Flanders, now called the Holy Roman Empire, is stronger than any other two countries togheter. It controls all of the lowlands, the norte and central parts of the ancinet Frankish Kingdom, Helvetia and central germany.

Hungary is the second strongest power, but has some problems with finances, as it seems but ours informants.

Britanny, expulsed from mainland, has united the islands and is in the way to be a great power again, protected from the dutch barbarians by the sea (and hopefully a strong navy).

Leon has gronw, after a hard and inflated start, and controls catholic lands in iberia and southern France. Morocco is in the way of controlling all of Africa, while sicily has almost unificated Italy and will soon expand into former venetians lands.

Mecklenburg and his swedish allie has unified the ancient lands of the vikings in the north, but has been coerced by the barbarians in former Flanders, cedding Hanovver to the ambitious self-calld empress.

Georgia has expanded in the east, taking all of Asia Minor and most of the lands surronding the Black Sea, while Moscow has expanded in all directions, specially in the south. We heard of a strong new power in Persia, called Mesopotamia, that is expanding fast.

Hmm. I've finally gotten around to looking at Ryoken's events in detail. While I like the way most of them are done, some seem unnecessarily punitive. For everyone's benefit, I'll point them out so you'll be ready for them.

First we have that fortification decay event, which I rather like. Limited to offensive nations (a weaker version at offensive 6, and a stronger version at offensive 9), these things hurt. You can choose to lose two or three fortress levels, choose to pay 300 ducats to reduce the fortress loss to one, or pay 400 ducats, lose one fortress level, and get an offensive -2.

Next we have the "decentralising effects of plutocracy" event, which only happens at aristocracy < 2. Its fun effects include -2 stability, -2 province tax to two provinces, and centralisation -2. I do not like this event. While the centralisation hit is understandable, I don't see why this should cause loss of stability, and 4 province tax hits are a bit much. This is like something Poland would get in the original... but Poland was aristocratic, not plutocratic!

The "decentralising effects of free peasantry" event does the same thing, which I also find inappropriate for the same reasons. Keep the centralisation hit, and dump the rest.

"Major conversion efforts" for protestants and reformed. This massively unbalanced event converts five provinces to the state religion, at no cost. Why he would expect anyone to stay Catholic with an event like this available, I have no idea, especially taking into consideration this next collection of events:

"x conversions!", where x = Shia, Sunni, Protestant, and Reformed. Drake has already felt the pain. Choice (a) lets one province convert to a heretical religion. Choice (b) prevents it, at a cost of -1 stability, -5000 people, and -2 province tax. Choice (c) embraces it, not only letting the province convert, but getting a +2 province tax bonus in exchange for -1 stability. The Shi'ite conversions occur to Sunni nations, Sunni to Shi'ite, Protestant to Catholic and Orthodox (!), and Reformed to Catholic, Orthodox, and Protestant.

The most ham-fisted of the bunch is this one, though: "Crippling Instability". For countries over size 30 (I'm looking at you, HG!), the one and only pleasant choice offers a -6 stability and +5 revolt risk for twelve months. Um, yeah.

Shig,

Aye. The events need some serious work.

Camisa,

The Imperial Navy is by far the largest and strongest in the world-make no mistake, the barbaric Britons trade on the Empress' goodwill. As do the heathen Vikings.

Shig,

Particularly the decentralizing effects of plutocracy, etc.

Ryo needs to take a long, hard look at a political science text book. :D Whether you come down on the chicken or the egg, the rise of the middle class and the abolition of feudalism directly corresponded to the increased power and nationalization of the central government.

Hughg... I got one of this last session... it hurted... as my centralisation was good.. was... and the lost of tax and stability.. argh...
