The main draw in HOI4 for me is achievement hunting. Lately however it seems that the game has been somewhat sloppy in explaining what certain achievements require you to do.

The latest examples that pop to mind are Finnish Him (where the actual requirements seem to be quite different from just "defeating Soviet Union without joining a faction"), Balkan Problem Solved (where it can be unclear at times what constitutes a Balkan state and what does not), Hoofin It (where it can be unclear what does "uniting" Arabia with Camelry divisions even mean).

Working from memory it seems that with the last few DLC there have been more instances where I have to consult reddit/forums where someone who knows how to dig up game files can explain the actual requirements for the achievement.

The reason it strikes me as sloppy is because HOI4's UI is perfectly equiped with explaining the requirements for achievements. If I hover over the achievement in game it usually displays a small menu detailing exact requirements. In the latest DLC this menu has been extremely unhelpful (mostly just repeating what the achievement said). So I request that in the future make the requirements for achievements a bit more clear (for examples instead of saying own Balkans the detailed view can give an outline of the states like it does when forming a nation in decision). If the developers want to create mystery around the requirements of some achievements, then this can be totally fine. However mystery does not equal misdirection or unhelpfulness (a fine example of a mystery achievement in my mind was the Poland achievement where you had to get the bear as a general).
