This is my first attempt of an AAR, so don't mind me if I don't get everything right
o In fact, I'd really appreciate constructive criticism.
A Race Against Time
Dutch Preparation for the German Invasion
First, a brief overview of the politics, research and espionage.
Oddly, a nazi is HoG, while Hendricus Colijn should be. Oh well, let's just pretend it never happened, and the masses shall never know the shady people that have power 'behind the curtains'
'Ah!' Colijn sighed as a brown envelope was brought to him by a postman, which left immediatly thereafter.
The mail he was waiting for. He opened the envelope, and put its content on his desk. Some progress on the new weaponry he had ordered.

He looked at the picture of the test-unit, equipped with the new rifles,
and knew that alot more work had to be done to be able to resist the German warmachine.
After taking a cup of tea, he reviewed the drawings of the modified British rifle the scientists at the Hembrug plant had developed.
It looked heavy, and not practical. Again he thought to himself about the loads of work that had to be done.
He checked some papers regarding the industry of the nation, seeing his recent decision to stop all naval construction.
Even though the Dutch had been known for their powerful navy for hundreds of years,
Colijn knew that ships would not stop a German invasion of the Netherlands.
Instead he ordered large scale production of supplies, anticipating the great amount of soldiers that would be called to arms, once the
armament industry had produced modern weaponry for those soldiers.
__________________________________________________________________________________________________
He had also put up a propaganda campaign to increase the national unity,
which would be very much needed for the ever-lurking German aggresor. Since he had enough people working on that now, he ordered efforts to be focused on the recruiting of officers.
The propaganda campaign previously set up came in useful here,
the patriottism previously called upon for unity,
could now be used for the drafting of officers for the army.
__________________________________________________ ________________________________________________
He looked at the statistics, and realised that with this rate of recruitment, less than four officers would be drawn into the army each day.
The propaganda had less effect than he had hoped.
Nonetheless all bits would be needed for the mobilization he had hoped for, and so he ordered the campaign to be continued
About this time he also devised his plan to decomission most of the Dutch navy, disarming them and selling them to wealthy civilians.
Not only could this boost the government's budget a bit, it would also free up sailors which could be trained to serve as regular infantry.
Wondering about other means of getting more soldiers for the front-line,
he thought of the divisions in the Dutch colony Indonesia.
If he would give the Indonesians a certain sense of 'independence', those divisions would not be needed there to keep peace,
and instead be transported back to the homeland, to hold off the Germans.
It was risky, but the risk of losing the Dutch colonies was small,
and the risk of German invasion big.
He had already ordered the Dutch aerial forces in Indonesia to fly back to the Netherlands.
Sipping some more tea, he decided to let this rest until tomorrow.
