A question regarding some flag tags

A friend of mine was going though the files and found 2 flags with tags of VAL and MLD. Now I tried to add cores to a province so I could tell him what country they belong to, but those tags only seemed to add cores for my own country (which was Munster, so I know it wasn't MLD or VAL). Anyway, I'll post both flags here and we were wondering if anyone could identify the flags for us.

We already theorize that "VAL" may be for "Valencia", however we're unsure. So any help on the matter is much appreciated.

VAL could be Valencia, given it's the Catalan stripes. What's the tag for Catalunya? That could be VAL, I don't know the history of the tag in game but it might have been originally intended to be Valencia.

MLD could very well be Maldives (which would be a legacy tag from EU3). You wouldn't see it in game as the province starts uncolonised and, once colonised, loses the original culture.

Looking from some history, it seems that Valencia was a kingdom from the 1200s until the 1700s. So it can be asumed that VAL is the sovereign identity of Valencia (It might be legacy from EU3 as well). I don't know for sure why they didn't add the core for said province however.

There's the file in the Common folder called countries.txt that has a match for every tag to their country for EU3, perhaps someone that has it installed could check to see if it's a legacy tag of some sort?

The equivalent one for EU4 is Common/Country_tags/00_countries.txt and it doesn't list either of those tags, so I'd bet it's a legacy tag.

Odd, I don't remember there ever being a Valencia tag in EU3.
