So we know that troops deployed without training will be considered "Green", and max off map training is "trained". Lets then say that a bunch of my regular troops are killed in combat and replacements are pulled from the manpower pool. Do they enter the division as Green, Trained, or Regular?

If the replacements enter as Trained or Green, is it possible for us to set up training divisions on map that troops can be pulled from? That way we can have a steady supply of outgoing Regular troops.

IIRC, when a unit is taking casualties, it's also losing experience. Although, not proportionally as new recruits are more likely to be killed than veterans !

Can't really answer to your last question, though. Not sure if it's possible..

This was the answer in DD#13, long time ago :

At war
When fighting units will continue to gain experience like if they were training (just faster) but will take casualties. For each division the game tracks experience as how many of its men are experienced soldiers and when casualties are removed during combat there is a higher chance that the fresh recruits were the ones who got taken out. This is both realistic and makes it easier to keep your divisions up in experience even when soldiers are lost.

What it mean is that casulties will not reduce experience proportional, like 25% casulties to a veteran division will maybe mean a 15% drop in experience as fresh recruits are put in the division.

I wonder what this implies in extreme cases. A unit that took 99% casualties in a single battle would not lose 99% of its experience. I suppose this could imply in a way (even though this isn't necessarily what this effect is supposed to represent) that replacements do indeed enter the field as "trained" and not "green".

I would still love training divisions though, it would be both historical and flavorful.

I assumed that the connotation of the two words "fresh" + "recruits" means green.

I wonder what this implies in extreme cases. A unit that took 99% casualties in a single battle would not lose 99% of its experience...

If there's only 1% of soldiers left, you can assume there's not much experience left as the 1% remaining veterans would be diluted in the 99% recruits.

At 99% casualties in a single battle, the mechanism of recruits removed first would do close to no difference.
