As this seems to be the year of QoL fixes, I'd kick myself if I didn't post these QoL problems that I keep running into. Hopefully some, if not all, can be addressed.

Green color means fixed/being fixed.

Launcher

  • Arrows to navigate recent news.
Advisors
  • Advertising feature, pay 10 times the cost of dismissing an advisor to be guaranteed to find the type of advisor you want. No guarantee for religion or culture.
AI
  • Demand non-warleader AI to transfer occupations of provinces they don't want.
  • Trade/privateering fleet AI: why do trade/privateering fleets stop moving? Do they still add the effect even if standing still?
  • Automatic transport AI: Instead of loading troops in the Caribbean and shipping them down to Peru, the AI loads the troops, unloads them in Panama, the troops move south of Panama, the ships sail around South America, passing the end goal, reload the troops near Panama, and go to the end goal.
  • Rework how subjects behave while set to support you. At the very least give a better explanation of the intended behaviour.
Templates
  • Automatic army template names, "X I - X C - X A". Add (M) to indicate that the template contains mercenaries, alternatively change template color to green.
  • Automatic fleet template names, "X H - X L - X G - X T".
  • Don't recruit land units in provinces that are currently building ships.
  • Ignore mercs when transforming armies to templates. Hopefully resolved with merc changes in 1.30.
Edicts
  • Button to cancel all active edicts.
  • Advancement effort
    • Button on the Institution screen to enable Advancement effort in all states with natural institution growth.
    • Automatically remove Advancement effort when the entire state has all institutions, or if the institution has been embraced.
  • Defensive edict
    • Toggle on military tab to automatically enable Defensive edicts in states with (border) forts.
    • Automatically remove Defensive edicts when at peace, unless edict was enabled manually.
    • Skip automatic edicts if state already has an edict.
  • Encourage development
    • Automatically remove Encourage development after a year, or change to flat cost/per 1 development.
    • Add Encourage development toggle to Develop province macro builder/province view.
    • Make Encourage development a national decision, scale cost per click.
  • Enforce Religious Unity
    • Add Enforce Religious Unity edict toggle to missionary macro builder/Religion tab.
    • Automatically remove Enforce religious unity edict once all provinces in the state follow the True faith.
    • Make Enforce religious unity a national decision, scale cost per missionary.
  • Centralization effort and Edict of Absolutism
    • Automatically remove Centralization effort when autonomy has reached 0/25% in all provinces of the state.
    • Automatically remove Edict of Absolutism when devastation has reached 0% in all provinces of the state.
Steam cloud
  • Store map mode settings.
  • Store notification settings.
UI
  • Flags
    • Add flag for when it's possible to change merchant abilities.
    • Allow to set required development to display "you can make states" flag.
    • Change possible conversions flag to state religion icon.
    • Remove "center on explorer" feature from Possible exploration flag.
    • Add available mission name to Mission flag tooltip.
    • Add available church power to Religious action flag tooltip.
    • Add area name to trade company investments flag list when an investment is only available in one area.
    • Make trade company investments flag center on the area where the investment is possible, instead of centering on the trade node.
    • Toggle to turn off "you can make states" flag for trade company regions.
    • Make dismissing completed mission flag hide until new mission becomes available.
    • Make Create vassal screen accessible during war, so that you can easily tell if you already hold cores from a certain nation that you consider releasing as a subject after said war.
    • Change green plus to red plus for lacking core flag when you have uncored provinces, but none can currently be cored.
    • Extend ignore functionality to AI requests such as offers to become a march.
    • Make better use of the screen, macro builder and parliament screens are too cramped.
    • Add toggle to allow subjects' provinces to trigger possible conversions flag.
    • Add flag for needing to curtail factions.
    • Consider Marches a separate subject type from vassals on the Subjects tab when sorting.
  • Ledger
    • Group subject nations under their overlord in the ledger.
    • Add troop counters when viewing Allies/Rivals/War Enemies in ledger.
    • Add "Country of Special interest" filter to ledger.
    • Add "clear search" button to ledger.
    • Add "send colonist" and "expell minorities" buttons to the Possible Colonies tab.
  • Macro builder
    • Trade buildings: add toggle for "only Centers of Trade" and toggle for "only CoT and/or estuaries".
    • Add region settings for buildings so you can focus on building up a certain region.
    • Add option to only upgrade buildings.
    • Add prioritization for improve relations macro builder to prioritize Personal Unions over Vassals, and Vassals over Colonial nations.
    • Add prioritization for improve relations macro builder to stop improving relations when at +200 total relations, if there are other subjects not yet at +200 from improved relations.
    • Add macro builder for trade company investments.
    • Reset set template names, instead of copying the last used name.
    • Fix naval unit/template selection. Works properly for land units, i.e. only one unit or template can be selected at once. Example here.
    • Clarify unit/template selection.
    • Add checkbox in the province view to add it to the top of the development macro builder.
    • Clarify estate selection.
    • Prioritize lacking tech coloring over lacking building slots on macro builder screen.
    • Add "build university" button for each province on the develop province tab.
    • Add macro builder for destroying buildings. Display the resulting loss.
  • Outliner
    • Make outliner stop changing order of categories.
    • Allow for customization of outliner's category order.
    • Add icon next to colony list indicating if it has a colonist present, same as expelling minorities.
    • Add CTRL-click functionality to only select, and not move the map to the location.
  • Religion tab
    • Put provinces being cored at the bottom of Religion tab.
    • Why can the columns on the Religion tab only be sorted one way? At least the Unity and Time columns would be useful to see both least > most, and most > least.
    • Add indicator of stalled conversion progress.
    • Distinguish temporary conversion modifiers on the religion tab/where you convert.
    • Instead of showing "---" when you can't convert a province, show the estimated time before you can start if it's being stopped by temporary modifiers.
    • Add sorting/filter for subjects.
  • Peace deals
    • Move peace deal check mark so it's not covered by peace condition popup.
    • Restore Full annexation peace offer option.
    • Add return all provinces to nation peace offer option.
    • Add indicator if full annexation will transfer vassals or tributary states to you, or make it possible to break the relationship during the resulting truce.
    • Move Coalition warning so it isn't hidden in wars with many participants.
    • Display cumulative aggressive expansion from other selected peace deals, to simplify separate peace deals.
    • Display aggressive expansion for allies.
    • Display diplomatic relation icons on the annul treaties screen when suing for peace.
    • Make Show strength count for the humiliate rival age objective.
  • General
    • Add core all button in Stability and Expansion tab.
    • Make right clicking on wasteland controlled by a nation bring up the diplomatic view for that nation.
    • Show subject flag instead of your flag when subjects have rebel uprisings.
    • Add secondary mission objectives as a reminder that mission A requires these provinces, but for the next mission you will also need the area just next to it. Saves needless extra wars.
    • Add better visibility mode for provinces required for missions. For example solid purple for primary provinces, and provinces required for following missions in solid yellow.
    • Add toggle/extra confirmation to unconditionally surrender. Too easy to click when playing on auto pilot.
    • Clarify the policy selection view to show which policies are already active.
    • Clarify the meaning of "0" by displaying the number of available free policies, instead of the total cost of policies. Example
    • Clarify whether or not a core belongs to a dead nation or not. Dead nation flags seem to just be gray scale, so you can't tell the difference between living or dead Iraq.
    • Add "set rival" button to declare war screen for eligible rivals.
    • Add warning for when allying nation that's at war.
    • Show how long national focus will last if changed.
    • Add easy access to macro builder, such as holding the ALT key.
    • Add raze all button.
    • Expand the Trade Company investment screen to display all options without the need to scroll down.
    • Add easily accessible harsh treatment buttons to the stability tab.
    • Align rivals with enemy icons instead of this.
    • Display province development on the declare war screen.
    • Make unique/flavour events stand out more.
    • Make the flag representing your Elective Monarchy's heir's origin clickable.
    • Display the end date of temporary modifers when hovering over tech and idea costs. Ideally any button costing monarch points.
    • Make special interest nations more prominent by adding button/icon to the nation view next to government rank and HRE membership.
    • Enlarge tiny windows like "Send missionary" to display all modifiers without needing to scroll.
    • Display rebellion sizes on the rebel faction page.
    • Display missing sailors and money when unable to build additional ships from a fleet.
    • Add divert trade power button for subjects to the trade node screen.
    • Redesign and expand subject tab to make subject interactions accessible directly from the tab, instead of needing to open up a menu.
    • Separate edict costs from state maintenance.
  • Estates
    • Sort modifiers in shortest > longest time remaining.
  • Separate army and navy stats on the military tab for easier navigation.
  • Group together the same interaction options for parliament seats.
  • Only list eligible provinces in the "Fortify March" subject interaction.
Sorting
  • Change Grant Core/Claim sorting to A-Z.
  • Change Grant province sorting to A-Z.
  • Change transfer occupation sorting to A-Z.
  • Change Create subject screen sorting to A-Z.
  • Change Add primary map mode sorting to A-Z.
Sync
  • Sync income shown when hovering over treasury with what's shown in the Economy tab.
  • Sync truce timer with truce notification.
Subjects
  • Demand that CNs transfer all occupations to their overlord, to avoid uncorable provinces.
  • Make sure provinces taken by the overlord are ceded to a CN that can core them. Currently seems to be based on alphabetical order (New Portugal getting uncorable provinces instead of Thirteen Colonies, which borders them).
  • Ask to auto rename inherited CNs when integrating or annexing their previous overlord.
  • Add return all cores subject action.
Expelling minorities
  • Add settings to allow hiding certain cultures, like accepted cultures, and cultures of your culture group. At least change culture names to the same colours as in the province view, accepted/non-accepted.
  • Add separate button to expel minorities.
  • Pause expelling minorities if the responsible colonist is temporary and expires, such as Parliament bonus. Currently the expulsion seems to be canceled. Alternatively make temporary colonists last X colonies, instead of X time.
Papal controller
  • Revert Papal controller to make "buyable" by the nation that invests the most Papal influence. Add auto invest of +5 PI if someone invests more than you.
  • Make subject nations unable to become Papal controller, maybe transfer their PI growth to the overlord.
Warfare
  • Add ability to lock leaders to important armies so they can't be relocated.
  • Show leader's location on the assign leader screen.
  • Add macro builder for transferring occupations, perhaps like in Factorio. Shift + right click to copy occupation owner, and shift + left click to paste on your occupations.
  • Split up army victory popups so you can ignore native uprisings without losing all popups.
  • Add ship capture policy: automatically disband selected ship types, and sending them to port instead of joining the fleet. Inspired by Arumba.
  • Toggle provinces as "free access" to ease the deluge of military access requests. Especially useful when your nation landlocks regions, or for when you don't care who walks through your colonies.
  • Display popup when a Great Power intervenes in a war, especially a war you're in.
  • Add toggle to not stop drilling when at war.
  • Make it possible to change blockading priority.
  • Make movements more prominent. This is a pain to read.
  • Add low detail view for army movements so all/more armies can fit on the screen.
  • Remove irrelevant modifiers like malevolent.
  • Order movements by move date.
  • Add auto-drill-while-at-peace toggle to armies.
Search function
  • Exact match search for "åland" does not find Åland.
  • Exact match search for "ile-de-france" does not find Île-de-France.
  • Exact match search for "österbotten" does not find Österbotten.
  • Exact match search for "hälsingland" does find Hälsingland.
  • Exact match search for "trondelag" does find Trøndelag.
  • Exact match search for "le-de-France" does find Île-de-France.
  • Exact match search for "Ile-de-France" does find Île-de-France.
Miscellaneous
  • Make retreating understandable, give more control over where you retreat to.
  • Add more notification categories for CBs so you can remove notifications for Trade War CB, but still get notified if a Personal union breaks.
  • Update estate influence before giving new influence events, so you can make the correct decision. Quite often have events where the decision is completely wrong, and some modifier expires just after I make my decision.
  • Deprioritize nations for automated improve relations if they have more than -100 relations (I saw this might already be happening).
  • Limit automatic relations improvement of neighboring nations to your home continent, or give some options. Improving relations with American natives doesn't help me when I try to smooth things over with western Europe.
  • Make armies toggled to board docked ships able to use automatic troop transport.
  • Make Escape button close Search window. Only works after opening/closing console.
  • Colonial range errors: at game start Ile Bourbon is 1286 distance from Cornwall, while Mauritius is 1277 distance.
  • Clear ineligible achievements from in-game achievement list.
  • Clear template name when saving/closing "Create template" window/view.
  • Clear search window when closed.
  • Why can't trade company provinces be converted? Waiting to add provinces to trade companies just complicates things needlessly.
  • Why isn't the estimated conversion time (without trade company modifier) shown for trade company provinces?
  • Highlight/move camera to corresponding separatist faction provinces feature. I imagine it'd be too much to include national rebels like particularists and nobles in any meaningful way.
  • States with unique modifiers/possible unique modifiers feature for finding states where you can Consecrate Metropolitans, recruit unique units etc. (Is already being done with the Metropolitans mapmode, maybe rename the map mode to "unique state bonuses" instead of adding individual mapmodes. Perhaps show a star next to the name if it applies to your nation).
  • Make it possible to queue new orders for movement locked units.
  • Auto accept military access feature for: allies, friendly, neutrals, rivals, hostile, all.
  • Popup notification when someone has been the first to tech up, so you don't need to put all focus on tech to min/max innovativeness gain.
  • Select colony when clicking colonists in outliner.
  • Go-to affected province feature for events.
  • Add reminder toggle for missions so you only get a notification flag for the ones you care about.
  • Add province information, or a go-to button, for events that affect a specific province, such as events adding 1 base tax/production/manpower.
  • Rework the chat windows. The chat functionality in CK II is much faster and smoother.
  • Add macro option for changing tribute settings for tributaries.
  • Display current liberty desire in events that can change it.
  • Add automatic rebuild of lost ships toggle for fleets. Separate toggle for automatic rejoining during war to avoid ships rushing into their deaths.
  • Remove the need to dock before issuing upgrade fleet order. Make ships dock automatically.
  • Add ability to renew claims before they expire.
  • Add search feature to map mode selection.
  • Display actual provincial unrest instead of capping it at 0.0.
  • Separate privateering from protecting trade when listing navy tradition gain modifiers.
  • Add auto accept option for tributary payments.
  • Add renew interaction to end of rebel support popup.
  • Add toggle to automatically accept requests for tribute.
  • Add toggle to automatically add provinces to trade companies if they've been founded.
  • Add Ctrl-click functionality on Send gift screen to add 1000 ducats.
  • Add popup history for events, as searching through the log can be a big hassle.
  • Streamline the process of returning cores to subjects. The return cores option in the peace deal only works until you have Absolutism and you need to take the land yourself, which requires micro to flip the occupations to yourself, and then granting the land manually to your subject. Ceding land directly for your subject in the peace deal also doesn't give the returned land relationship modifier, and it doesn't lower their liberty desire.
  • When pressing "A" while having several armies selected, apply "Attach to transport" to all of them.
  • Display AE cost along with the province war score cost in the province view.
  • Add ALT + left-click functionality to provinces to open the state view instead of the province view.
  • Add toggle to disable diplomatic offers.
  • Add button to cancel all military access with non-allies.
  • Add indicator in the province view to display whether or not the province can be used to release a subject.
  • Allow nations with New World capitals to explore.
  • Ctrl-click feature to click on things in the outliner without moving the map.
  • Review which actions truly require a diplomat. I believe this might have been done for 1.30.
  • Add CTRL-click functionality to suppress rebels in regions instead of states.
  • Add customizable timer to be alerted on a set date.
Non-QoL
  • Make integration a step process where you first integrate trade > economy > military and finally territory. You will fund the subject's military after integrating the economy.
  • Make navies able to occupy non-fortified coastal provinces. One month at 100% blockade, one at a time.

Added:

UI

  • Make Create vassal screen accessible during war, so that you can easily tell if you already hold cores from a certain nation that you consider releasing as a subject after said war.
Further suggestions made by:

@Wishful @tilly @JayD @Xetfield @Sanguine Caesar @Karst @Soulburger @Elryos & @Execute Order 66 et al.

Warfare
  • When using automatic transport to move more units then you have transports the first batch should contain the general.
  • Add toggle to lock fort maintenance (maintained / mothballed) by right-clicking on the maintenance button.
UI
  • Have a toggle to automatically add all provinces to trade company regions.
  • Pressing the state flag icon should take you to the highest development region that you have not yet stated.
  • allow diplomatic actions (i.e. sue for peace, threaten war, etc.) to be viewable, just not confirmable, without an available diplomat, so you can check if the ai is willing to accept without having to pull a diplomat off of something else or sit around waiting for one in transit to arrive home
  • While Protestants have an alert when they can choose parts of their religion, the Catholics should check Papal Authority themselves
  • Add Defender of the Faith tooltip to Religion icon in Diplomacy screen.
  • Hover over a dead nation's core in the province view to highlight all its cores
  • Higher saturation in Simple Terrain map mode, especially Grasslands and Farmlands look too similar
  • Add Defensiveness map mode. Or better, add defensiveness color shading to fort map mode.
  • Add Piracy map mode, which shows the selected country's coastal raiding range as well as color-coded cooldown for raided provinces
  • When viewing a potential coalition in the peace treaty view, give nations with a truce a different text color
  • When hovering over the culture in the province view or culture map mode, list the culture's primary nation
  • Change rebel progress color to red at 80% in outliner.
  • Add an indicator to the HRE elector screen showing who would win an election if the emperor died today.
Subjects
  • Fix subject military focus behavior, sometimes subjects won't properly follow the rules based on the military focus.
  • Make subjects navies also follow subject military focus. So if they are on defensive they keep their ships in their docks.
  • Subject rebels that are close to enforcing demands do not cause the icon that rebels are close to enforcing demands show up.
  • Overlord can interrupt subject's Promote Settlement Growth by constructing buildings
  • Overlord can allow or disallow subject colonizing outside its own colonial region
  • Allow overlord to decide a new colonial nation's capital upon forming
  • When giving provinces to subjects or allies in a peace deal, show every recipient's overextension when hovering over the overextension icon in the peace deal view
Achievements
  • If you have a subject that has a colonial nation or another subject they should be considered your subject for the sake of achievements.
  • Add multiplayer achievements
Warfare
  • Forts should not project zones of control into other nations provinces. Currently there are situations where you cannot move through land that you own because of an enemy fort that borders your nation.
  • If you have a fort on a strait, such as Constantinople as Byzantium, the Ottomans can sometimes walk to Kocaeli to Constantinople to Edirne. This seems weird for strait forts.
  • This might not be the easiest of fixes but the way troops deploy in combat is super strange, sometimes artillery deploy in front row even when infantry are available, infantry sometimes deploy in back row even when artillery are available, sometimes when two small armies are fighting infantry will deploy in back row even when their are front row spots that could hit enemy units, cavalry don't move in to continue flanking after killing the unit on the edge. Basically unit deployment is strange and I think most of it would be fixed if units moved to their optimal position every round or every other round or something like that.
Multiplayer
  • Create an option that allows you to see nations total number of troops on each side of the war. Since you can see this information in the ledger anyway the fact that it is hidden in multiplayer is more of a nuisance than anything else.
  • When you select a save file in multiplayer make it so you can chose another file without exiting out of the lobby
Missions
  • Ability to see your vassal's\junior partner's mission tree to help them with completing it. It can be a simple square window in mission tab with "see subjecst's missions" option to tick
Miscellaneous
  • Allow auto-explore option for conquistadors (besides the New World colonial-specific one)
  • Change centers of trade to downgrade upon coring, not merely switching owners, so reconquest, return core and subject annexation on CoT doesn't downgrade them. It's a bit unfair that Arakan apparently devastates their own World Port in Chittagong when they retake it from Bengal.
  • Setting home provinces for armies to which they return with a click. OR Ctrl + left-click on armies in the outliner to select them without moving the screen to them.
  • "I’m suggesting a ‘build all’ button or something similar where it’ll give you a ducats amount needed figure to build all. Anything to help take away the micromanagement, even a build all in x state would help too."

  • allow diplomatic actions (i.e. sue for peace, threaten war, etc.) to be viewable, just not confirmable, without an available diplomat, so you can check if the ai is willing to accept without having to pull a diplomat off of something else or sit around waiting for one in transit to arrive home

How about an addition to the tooltip when you hover over a country's religion on the Diplomacy screen saying who is the Defender of the Faith for that religion? That way you don't have to go to the Declare War screen every time you want to know who is the Defender of the Faith for the country you're eyeing to attack.

Added:

UI
  • Distinguish temporary conversion modifiers on the religion tab/where you convert.
  • Instead of showing "---" when you can't convert a province, show the estimated time before you can start if it's being stopped by temporary modifiers.
Miscellaneous
  • Highlight/move camera to corresponding separatist faction provinces feature. I imagine it'd be too much to include national rebels like particularists and nobles in any meaningful way.
  • States with unique modifiers/possible unique modifiers feature for finding states where you can Consecrate Metropolitans, recruit unique units etc.
  • Make it possible to queue new orders for movement locked units.
