Has it ever happen to you that you have 100% religious unity, and just noticed that idle missionary just sitting there doing nothing, and thoght "you lazy Mr Missionary, just do something!", and wanted to poke him with a stick? Well, if Paradox accepts my proposal, those days are over! What can you do with an idle missionary? I can tell you right here if you scroll down...
Send them study! Right. Clergymen need to study theology, their religion's scriptures, etc. So you send them to the spiritual centre of your religion to study, get prepared to convert all those heretic (and even heathen, ew!) people. And all fthat or the very special price of 2 ducats each month! Because we all know that tuition is not free, right?
If you're Catholic, well, just send him to Rome. Just like a colonist improving your development, there's a periodical chance that he better relations with the Papal States for your country, or some sweet sweet papal points! He may even increase your country's missionary power against heretics after the Reformation, or against heathens if there's a Crusade!
If you're Orthodox, send him to Constantinople. His reputation may increase your patriarch authority, or his acquaintances from other Orthodox priests from different countries may increase your relations with said countries. Who knows, he might even buy an icon at the Turkish bazaar, smuggle it to your country, and give you an icon for free to select and use for many years!
If you're Lutheran, you could send him to any foreign Lutheran capital with more than 20 development or a university. The events for him will increase your Church Power, or translate some Holy Scriptures to your language and thus increase your institution spread for a while! Or he may encounter some Protestant refugees from a Papist country, send them to a random province of yours and thus increase its tax dev...
A Reformed missionary could likewise travel to the capital of any foreign Reformed country and get for you some extra fervor, and maybe some extra discipline too, coming from the Reformed ascetic practices. Not to mention the global trade power from having commercial relations with other Reformed countries.
A Coptic missionary could be sent to any Coptic holy site, being it a province that follows the rightful Coptic branch of Christianity, and give you some other bonuses I can't think of right now because it's very late.
Good night.
