A problem with registering Rome

Alright, first off I wish to apologize for having to place this here, but seeing as I have not registered EU: Rome yet it is so far impossible for me, as far as I know, to get on its technical forum, thus forcing me to post it here.

Please let me explain the situation I am currently in. Roughly a week ago I finally purchased EU: Rome Gold, a great game I've been wanting to buy for quite some time. I purchased it at the site Centralpoint.nl which went quite fine. Download worked, installation went smooth.

However the problem came when I tried registering EU: Rome on this site as it requires 24 digits and I happen to have a serial code with 25 digits. This of course makes it impossible for me to register.

The thing I wonder is if anyone knows whether there is a way to solve this (I just hope I don't have to buy the game again at a different store) as I'd really like to go to that technical forum and find some other solutions (Like the topic that was moved about EU: Rome Gold crashing when exiting).

Anyways, I know this is most likely a technical issue, but as you can see, I am in no position to reach the technical forum. I hope you, as in, the moderators of this forum, can understand the issue. Again, apologies for having to post it here.

The Key should be 6 groups of 4 characters each. Is your key in a similar format? Perhaps you have the same format but in one group there are 5 characters instead of 4. You could try typing the code without the first and/or the last character of that group.

If it doesn't work (very likely), you should contact the company that sold you the game. Perhaps it's an internal code of theirs. They should also provide a valid Paradox key.

No, sadly it isn't that way. It consists out of 5 groups with each group having 5 characters. I presumed at the beginning, or hoped perhaps is a better choice of words, that perhaps a combination or something of the characters would work. Say, every first four of each group for the first 5 groups and the remaining ones from the first four groups as the 6th group, but obviously it did not work.

Yes, I have called the company explaining my situation, but they responded that they were unable to respond. Strangely though I received an email today stating that my delivery (EU: Rome) was sent away, even though I have it for over a week already (It's a digital download).

So if best comes to best I might receive a new digit code, but it's to be doubted that they'd sent it. Still, nothing wrong with hoping. Otherwise I must contact Nexway, as they are the producers or something along those lines.

It is up to the publisher to provide you with a proper Paradox forum code (which they in turn get from Paradox). It's not clear to me which edition you have, but it does sound like that code is not the Paradox forum registration code but something else entirely; did you have to enter it to install the game, for instance? I hear the Mac versions from Virtual Programming work that way. If so that code is no use here, and you'll need to get a proper code from that publisher.

Alright, the problem is finished now. I'd like to thank everyone for their assistance as well. Instead of going through the effort, I've decided to simply buy the game again, but this time at Gamersgate (At least they provided working serial codes for EU 3: Complete). Normally I'd consider it a waste of money to buy a game twice, but I suppose Paradox is one of those rare companies that makes you think twice. :rofl: (Companies like BlackIsle, Troika Games and CDProjekt have similar effects sometimes).

I did the same with EU3. I got the Collector's Edition, but then In Nomine was released so I just purchased the whole thing again as EU3 Complete. I consider the money going to a good cause, though!
