I can be shuffled around to honestly.. I learned enough to start again. but maybe portugal is good to have?
Oh well.. The test went ok for all of you that wasn't there. At least for me.
Exept that SirJakop pauseabused.. ~_~
Ok, so are we making contact with those previously interested? or something? hrrn.. Bork bork bork. And should we start discussing things concernign gameplay, speed and dialogue perhaps?
Portugal is far more important to be succesful, for the game to be balanced, then venice.
If portugal was played by the AI, it would be quite brutally raped by me, france and spain, shifting balance of power towards colonial nations (especially spain) too early. Venice on the other hand, its not the end of the world if she is gobbled up.
best would be, of course, if we could have another player join up as either venice or russia, depending on julius preference.
and about my pausing in the test session, they were because my comp lagged as hell. I wont be able to host until I get my new CPU for my primary computer, so I can get off this 800-mhz-piece-of-shit-secondary computer

which will be in the next couple of days.
I'd love to discuss more things in the thread, if people would post more here and stop talking with eachother on msn messenger
some things to discuss:
Who CANNOT play saturday afternoons (like around 14.00-18.00 CET, give or take an hour) ?
Treaties. I think that for a treaty to be valid, it has to be posted in the RP thread (and may only be edited up to 10 minutes after post, so check spelling) and then signed by other parts in the RP thread. If such a treaty is to be broken, penalties will be made (what penalties ? discuss). Treaties made secretly on msn or likewise are free to be broken without repercussions.
Gamespeed. I would favor "above normal" and if a player requests (due to war) it be lowerd to "normal", or if it is a big war, to "below normal"
Pausing. Every session begins with a lengthy pause, so that everyone can get up to speed with their country, check their stuff and do some diplomacy.
Otherwise pausing should be kept to a minimum.
Taking land. I'm favor of the 8 points rule. In any given peacetreaty, no more provinces worth more then a total of 8 points may be taken. European provinces are worth 2 points. European COT's and gold provinces are worth 4. non-european/colonial provinces are worth 1 p. and non-european/colonial COT's or gold provinces are worth 2. Below 1000 pop colonies and TP's are worth 0.5 points.
