I purchased DV 6 weeks ago. I stopped playing it 5 weeks and 6 days ago because I can't play more than 50 or 60 years without ever more frequent CTDs as explained here. I understand Paradox's patching policy and I realize that my thread isn't going to accomplish anything, but here goes:
Six weeks with hardly a peep from any official source about the game stopping crashes is unacceptable. I have to believe that after six weeks and all the save games that have been submitted, Paradox knows what the problem is. So what I am asking is that Paradox please release a hotfix for the crashbug only so that I and many others can actually use the product that we paid $15 for a month and a half ago.
I want to play this game. I am not asking for any other fixes. As far as I'm concerned most of the other issues are either minor or can be classified as design decisions, and Paradox would be perfectly within their rights to say "sorry we won't patch that." But a show-stopping, game crashing bug that makes the product impossible to use is another story.
This thread will probably end up closed like all the others do, but I don't think I'm being unreasonable here. I don't consider myself a ranter or a complainer, and I've been a loyal Paradox customer for almost 7 years now. If others choose to chime in, please keep this thread civil, and please don't go off-topic discussing other bugs, issues, or Paradox's design decisions. I am just trying to make an effort to get a stable game that we can enjoy for more than 50 years of gameplay.
