Well... it's supposed to be only a few possibilities. African nation either islam or christian, american nations only christian, hindy SE Asian states might change to islam, Nubia might change to islam and Mali might go from islam to paganism.

Sure. Once have submitted to christianity you can jump around between the possibilities. No return to paganism, though.

As for random is there a method to the madness? F.E. if I played a hands off game as the Aztecs, would it happen very seldom? Since the Aztecs are Pagan. And is it for any non-African nation. So, anywhere in NA?

Since they are random they are...well... random The ymight happend, might happend more than once or not at all for several consecutive games.
