A Noobish Question

Hi, I have played EU3 NA for years now. I just won a copy of HOI2 in the raffle .
So can I have some suggestions for some starter nations and advice on the nation. Also, some good mods or add-ons that may be wanted (beside the patches)

Played EU3 NA for years ! EU3 was released early 2007, NA last autumn

First, play all the tutorials. There you learn the basics of the game.

Then I would suggest to start with Germany in 1936. Germany is an relative easy country, you have good leaders, tech-teams and start with a decent army. And if you play historically you also know what will happen between 1936 and september 1939.

You also can't do much wrong in-game as Germany.

There are a lot of mods out there, both graphic mods and mods that chance gameplay or give you alternative scenario.

I would definitely install a graphic mod (I myself use Skif's).

After having played some games you can try your luck with CORE or HSR or DAIM, check the Modification sub-forum for those

Soviet Union. No need to worry about navy, economy or complex build ups. Just Spam INF and you will have learnt the most important part of the game. Everything else will come later.

USA can be boring but also is easy to get a grip - big lake, the Atlantic.

Germany or USSR are also good picks, for reasons above.

Thanks guys, and to Veldmaarschalk, I play EU3 scence it came out. I'll try the USSR first, and maybe try some mods later.
