I can not believe this still problem exists!

Please resolve the following:

I know you just press cancel and it goes away but how many new players are hurt by this?

Same here! It's not that much of a problem, but it is a mouse-click that could have been used somewhere else!

Wouldn't #10 in "Known Issues " thread apply as a solution to the problem ? Did you try that ?

My issue is it happens on the first install and most new people take a long time to find that small part of info on the tech support thread.

Plus the message reads as if the error is in your microsoft c++ so going to the game tech help is not the first move. You first try to fix your windows and down that road leads madness.

So it did help ? Good.
Well i didnt have the problem and it seems to be not that many people, as its very rare that i read anything alike, so it may have something to do with your specific configuration and less a game based problem.
But i don't know.

So a too-advanced version of the redistributable is NOT the cause of any kind of graphics oddities during play? Just so I can rule that out as a cause of the whole extended screen blacking out and the game minimizing itself on a reinstall (the redistributable message appeared both times, but the difficulty only the second).
