A new year-ender for Stellaris AARs, but what to call it?

Hello all. I'll be hosting the Year-Ender awAARds this year. There will be general awards, and awards for best completed AARs in various categories (e.g. OscAAR for EU4, VictAARia Cross for V2, etc). It'll be a few days before I have a block of time to put up the threads.

Stellaris AARs certainly deserve representation too. So there will be an awAARd for "Best Completed Stellaris AAR of 2016".

The question is: what to call it?

I would like suggestions from the good denizens of AARland for names. I'll get the ball rolling by suggesting "The Silver StAAR" but I'm eager to hear what people think.

Good on you for looking at the best completed AAR awAARds as I feared they might get lost in the din when we moved towards the more recent year enders. There are likely a few years worth of those that have not been rewarded as of this date. That you are considering it is a wonderful thing Nuada!

As for a name for the Best Completed Stellaris AAR, I think you must use StAAR somehow. Not sure exactly how and you likely have time as it is so new. Outside of at least one short one, I don't know how many have actually completed their work there in the short time it has been out. The Biggest StAAR? I don't like it. The Brightest StAAR? Better, but...I'll keep thinking on it and hope that others will take it and run.

As for the others, Vickie Cross, OscAARs, etc. - if you need any help, I happen to enjoy lurking back into the recesses of our forum so please reach out. I don't have a huge amount of time, but I would do my best to help get any of those back off the ground as best I can. And more than anything, thanks for stepping up, Nuada. It takes people like you to keep this place a place I have loved for far more than a decade. Well done!

I think coz1 is onto something with using StAAR, although I don't have any specific ideas myself except for looking through different synonyms. Although one thing I'm curious about is how the original names were picked, if anyone remembers.

Nearly all were picked by the members of each subforum when they were first started except for the OscAARs. As they were the first, that is name Lord Durham used when the first polls were run for EU2. The name stuck due to tradition more than anything else.

I was away from the forums a bit longer than I expected but I'm still on this. Thank you both for your suggestions. I'll post a thread on the Stellaris forum and see if there is any further interest in naming suggestions.

Another possibility...not sure how many might recall the old Sid Caeser show, but a play on that would be - Your StAAR of Stars...something like that.

I also think stnylan may have something with The StellAARis Crown. It plays well into the name of the game, to be sure.

You could name it after the North Star to signify the winning AARs are a guiding light in the Stellaris community. So the PolAARis Awards.

Or go a lighter route and name it after the heroes of Spaceballs the movie:

Lone StAAR Award, BAARf Award, or DAARk Helmet Awards.

The StellAAR(is) Bear (play on the Big Bear-constellation)

StellAARis' Belt (from Orion's Belt)

Sixth for The PolAARis Award. Captures the spirit of the game nicely and neatly incorporates our need to use AAR anywhere possible.
