Is there any intention to stop giving colonies nationalism when they turn into colonial cities?
Also, has the default heir mortality changed? If not, I would like to alter it.
I haven't verified this yet.- Lowered the chance of heirs dying prematurely
How long did you wait? You are aware that the '50 years' is not a countdown, only an average time for when the event will fire, correct? It is quite possible (although unlikely) that it may never fire during the game at all. It might also fire the day after you take the decision.After installing the beta patch I've noticed a problem with "settlement policy" decision- 60 years passed- and I did have colonists and magistrates to spare- and the province still did not flip to my culture.
another day and still no reply.![]()

Roughly half the time this event should fire in less than 50 years and half the time it will be more than 50 years. That's what a MTTH of 50 means. There is no guarantee it will fire within a certain time. This is true of all events unless they are directly triggered by another event/decision/spy mission/etc.I thought the decision said "within fifty years". It seems incredibly pointless, for an event that gives so many negative effects to be made so that it may never fire at all. And indeed that doesn't seem likely, since the AI always seems to get the event to fire. Or do you mean you must wait at least fifty years before it will fire? Because I've had it fire in less than ten years before.
- Peace cost for union formation lowered again, to 60
then what it was before? i could use fabricate claim normally... now with obscure documents CB you need 120 WarScore to get PU. its a bug right?

Nope, looked at the event description in-game. It says within fifty years, which means no more than.
The event description is misleading (possibly a poor translation to what the phrase implies in English). The game files establish a MTTH, as jdrou says. I've had this happen before without the beta patch.

50 years is the MTTH. Means its as likely to happen after 10 years than 90, or it could never fire at all in the game timeframe.
Personally, Im toying with this alternate version of the decision right now;
It has one big advantage; immediate conversion, with one big drawback, impossible to use it more than once per 50 years, and guarantee that youll get the decision's ongoing penalties for the full 50 years.
Essentially, its more reliable early game, but doesnt allow you to turn dozens of provinces at once, which is entirely possible late game once youre done colonizing and have an easier time with badboy. It seems like an acceptable price to pay for predictability. Of course if someone wants to use it, you gotta erase the "event" block as well to avoid it clearing away the modifier early.

Well now I am sad, but what happens if you revoke it and then reinstate it? Would the chances of it happening in a timely manner go up again?
