Please please please do not neglect this.

The wastness of Russia should not be reflected in HUGE provinces, but many of them, the last HOI game had more provinces between Berlin and Paris than between Berlin and Moscow or atleast pretty close.

Monsterous sized provinces ruins the battle on the eastfront.

Janster

I agree. The provinces should be smaller so that the game could be able to simulate the difficulties to control these huge areas.

I agree as well.

Sometimes, when you hadn't got the newest tac bombers, it could be hard to actually find a prov where they had sufficient range to strike at the Russians because of the huge provs. Very annoying...

so we all agree to 3 times more provinces as the common Hoi map has now?:D
I say yes!! I want 90 provinces in germany instead of 30..just kidding
But in general yes the map must be more detailed, Europe maybe not so much as other parts of the world. SU was and is a pain to move through in HoI as it is. Even those nice *little* 0 infa provinces in afrika make my day.
2 month to reach a province is just not that funny...

If we talk the number of provinces - USA should have more provinces as well.

While it's not that common battlefield, having state-sized provinces spoils all the fun of the potential invader...

Amen.

And please, please give western Texas back to the Texans. Apparently some New Mexican infiltrated the beta and redrew the borders a bit...

nice !! Then Denmark would be 3*7 = 21 provinces !!! Of course this is just a blind shot, but the idea is good. Then my V1/V2's will have more targets. MUHAHAHAHAHA :D

Also a cool map idea just came to me - using the editor it should be possible to make and print blank maps for planning campaigns (that part is not new)
AND the editor should include tools for this like drag and drop bendy thrust arrows and defensive lines like on maps in history books. :)

At the moment I am trying to do this in an image editor - should be able to do it in the Paradox editor directly.
Good idea! That is a smart and seemingly simple way to provide something very nice.

A further step, and probably demanding more development, would be to have a separate, special, tool for planning maps (see description/discussion here: http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?t=147544).

I'd like to find a more realisti map, and maybe a limit of units for each province thinking about his size and that stuff. It 'scares' me when I see on the map a Gibraltar province of that gigantic size (remember, it's nothing more than a not very big city) and watching there sometimes 45 div of UK infantry (and then I get inside another 90 divs of German troops... man they must be walking over the head of his mates). I doubt seriously that you can fit there more than maybe one or two div at one time.
