After conquering and annexing China in 1938, the Empire has consolidated its grip on the middle resource territory, quelling rebellions with the help of the Emperor's Sith...err.. motorized Cavalry divisions.

A period of peace and stability has brought prosperity to our state, but the geopolitical situation indicates there might be war in Europe by the end of next year. Therefore we must build up the navy to deal with overseas threats, and also start our top-secret "Death-Star" program; Harnessing the Atom!

So in early 1940 we strike at the Netherlands. Their navy is pitiful compared to ours, and their colonial forces are ill-equiped to deal with much more than tribal uprisings. Our marine forces make short work of them, and by mid-april 1940, all the Dutch pacific colonies are under Imperial control.
The plan is to demand a strategically important island, and then leave them alone for a few years while we further develop our air- land- and seaforces, but alas, they fail to listen to reason, and only offer us scraps, while denying us the truly resource rich provinces.
Events in Europe overtake us, and the Dutch are sucked into the western Alliance.

June 26, 1940.
Since early May this year, Japan has been at war with the British Empire (decadent western nancy-boys), as a cause of our belligerence and continued warfare against the Netherlands. The Dutch (wile, smelly round-eyes,) continuously refused our generous peace proposals, and their counter-offers were unacceptable.
Therefore, when the Netherlands were attacked by the Germans (a noble race, they surely deserve the title ‘Honorary Japanese’!), and joined the Western Allies, we found ourselves at war with the British, French, and all the other gaijins.
Now, almost two months later, we have secured all of Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore. Only the Australian (sheep-smelling beer drinkers) forces in East Guyana prevents us from exerting total control in the SE Asian region, except for a few small, inconsequental pacific islands to the north-east of New Zealand.

July, 1940
We allied with the Germans to be able to take advantage of the weak Vichy regime in France. We now control the provinces formerly known as “Indochine”. The Emperor contemplates renaming it ”Dagoba”.

December, 1940.
After a few months of struggle, the Imperial Troops have conquered Australia. Their pitiful navy was no match for our Imperial Star Destroyers and Stormtroopers! err...I mean “Aircraft Carriers and Marines”...
Now that we have subjugated the Aussies, it’s time to turn our attention to the Kiwi sheep-shaggers. Their pitiful army, spread out on their many beaches, won’t be able to withstand a coordinated assault. Lord Vader himself will supevise the operations. The Emperor will be pleased.

January, 1940
No more New Zealand. The islands’ new national meal is Humble Pie.

January-March 1940
The Imperial marines have retaken the islands formerly taken from us by the wily Brits, and taken the island of Diego Garcia.

April, 1941
The marines of the Imperial Stormtrooper Corps have finished training and is now redeployed to liberated Rangoon, along with the Imperial Marine Corps.
We are running low on supplies, but the situation will be improved when construction on the new naval vessels finish.
The British are putting up quite a fight in Burma, but an amphibious assault in Bangladesh will probably cut their supply lines long enough for us to go permanently on the offensive.

May 26, 1940
Chittagong, Comilla and Dimapur has been seized by our Siamese auxillary forces (better to risk them as cannon-fodder than our elite troops), efficiently cutting off the British in Burma.
Now the offensive can truly begin!

I call it "annoying skirmishes and the just annexation of obvious Japanese dependencies".
Oh, and Manchuko and Mengoku were kicked out of the alliance in '39, due to their idiotic strategic positions vers the USSR..
