Foreword (You can probably skip this part)

If this post looks familiar, it's because it's a repost of something I posted my first day ln the forums. I wanted to put it in the Suggestions forum where it belongs. Thank you to Teten1 and Basilieos for the encouragement and Fluffy_Fishy for constructive criticism on the original thread.

The Main Idea (Where you're probably going to want to start reading)

Currently, in EU4, coalitions are something that just shows up when you surpass 30 AE and your neighbors think they can beat you in a fight, where historically they were on a much larger scale (ex. The holy league, league of cambrai, first coalition). I suggest that coalitions work similarly to the factions system in CKII where your faction has a objective that they try to achieve. Some coalition objectives would be similar to CB's in Vic2 such as, for example, "Cut France down to size" when such a coalition forms, they can attack the target, issuing a call to arms to all members. Members can decline the call, but at the cost of additional prestige cost, greater opinion penalties with coalition members, and a loss of stability. Non war goal peace items cost twice as much, and coalition members cannot seperate peace. Each coalition goal gives a casus belli to fulfill the coalition objective. Countries would be able to invite others to coalitions

Some suggested coalition goals include:

-Normal-

Cut (tag) down to size (releases all of target's vassals, a couple dead nations, and government rank decreased by one)
75% province war score cost, 50% war score to return cores, release nations.

Liberate (tag) from (tag adjective) opression (releases a vassal or a dead nation.
25% war score to release nations and return cores. Nation to be released must be in same culture group as the coalition leader and have at least two core provinces.

Expel (tag) from (region) Gives back cores of coalition members in a region. If not all of theprovinces in the region have coalition member cores, then the remaining provinces arereturned to existing non coalition member nations that have cores on them. If any of the target nation's provinces in the region are left, dead nations are released in those provinces. (Note: the target nation must not have its capital in the region you are expelling them from.)
50% extra war score cost to take provinces outside of region.

-Only available before 1650-

Reclaim the Holy Land (to start this coalition, a nation must be the curia controller, Catholic, and have enough prestige)

-Miscellaneous-

Dethrone (ruler) of (tag) depose a country's monarch and replaces them with a monarch of your own dynasty.
(Same as claim on throne)

-Only available after the revolution starts-

Restore the (tag adjective) monarchy. (Change a republic to a kingdom.)
(Same as crush the revolution)

Overthrow the (tag adjective) monarchy. (Change a kingdom into a republic)
(Same as crush the revolution)

It should be noted that each objective has it's own peace item, worth 75% warscore, whoseuse fulfills the coalition goal.

Hate mail, both constructive and destructive criticism, and questions will be answered to thebest of my abilities, and are welcome in the comments.
