Hello guys,
I don't know if this discussion was held before. If so, I apologize in advance.
I was thinking to improvements the game could achieve. I would fix the Pope and patriarch policies in a more dynamic way.

Some suggestions:

1) Making the Pope's election more interactive. Players should enter into it somehow and this should bring to more intriguing focuses and influences towards the realms. Same for the patriarch's elections in Costantinople, since the game starts in the Iconoclast period.
2) More interactive relationship with the patriarchs and striving ingerence in the easter Roman Empire politics. Papal representatives should go to Costantinople, dispute for certain politics or doctrines, and so on.
3) The papal policy could be influenced by the Pope's characteristics a bit more. Same for the patriarchs.
4) Autocephalus patriarchs should not be automatic but given by the patriarcate of Costantinople under political pressures (the Emperor itself could intercede).
5) What about the option of sending missionaries?
6) Some eretical movements could search for official recognizition before exploding. See saint Franciscus. What about introducing the Inquisition after the XIII century?
7) Inserting figures of saints and martyrs (know there's a mod for that, but should be into the game, definetly).

These are only some free thoughts. If redundant, again, apologize.

Bye!
