Thought this would be a good event to happen for the explorer whose in it for the long haul (and because I was told to post it here after posting it on reddit...:)

Basically if you're the first European explorer to enter the Bohai Sea region and the Chinese imperial capital is based in Beijing, you get a prestige event similar to the weirdly unique 'Japan found!' event.

You could further this by adding on an option to buy a province e.g. Macau, or add in a new province such as Port Arthur (Dalian) or Shanghai Port province in exchange for a large buy in, such as for 500 gold.

This event would place you at an inroad to expand in East Asia, would mimic European relations as early traders to China, and would follow the historical meetings of European powers to the Summer Palace/Forbidden City that occurred with the Qing dynasty at the end of and there after of EU4's period, just earlier (like early formable Germany or Italy)

Hong Kong also qualifies.

Yes, and it would be equally as good I know. But if I say Hong Kong I get arguments that Hong Kong didn't exist as a European colony until the time of Vicky II, despite the land still existing as a fantastic port option. Its the same with all these options (including another which I thought of being Qingdao/Tsingtao which Germany got in the 1890s). But that's the point of this event I think, giving Europeans land for tiny port cities which didn't really exist yet (like Macau) for trade.

Bah! They have pretty much imported the Second Reich into the game by now, another small plausible inaccuracy for the sake of immersion would hardly hurt.

Exactly and it would play more into the Europa 'Universalis'ness of the game. I mean when you play as a Native American, African or Indian state you get the sense of "Oh sh*t they're here, hide the gold!" vibe when Europeans colonize or set up a charter colony next door. How do you reasonably do that with China (or Japan with Dejima) when the states are usually too big or unified to want to sell to you (India has this sometimes too with the Bahmani/Vijayanaga super-states).
