Well it seems to me that the risk would be in over-specialization of an army if such a mechanic were in place. After all, if you've been fighting in Midgard for the first third of the game, maybe all of your units suddenly are only good at killing Trolls or Humans. Then you get to Jotunheim, and suddenly, giants. Not a bad idea overall, but seems like it could make units a bit too specialized.

But think of the decimation as your elfkiller elites carve their way through armies of elves. I really thought this would appeal to you.

In the example I was thinking of, the bonuses were, in fact, relatively small, generally similar to a single level of a skill (like +10% melee attack)

More for Abnwtwtud only regardless of race. Still I reckon the best elfkiller would be another elf. After all who would suspect them? Hundreds of elves dead. Right, ban on other races entering Elf Central, but nobody would prevent the cunning if insane darkelf bent on self-genocide (is there such a thing?).

That's an outrageous accusation. As far as we're aware, they aren't even implementing a kill counter, much less the ability to use the kill counter as an attack.
