Now Wokeg, I know you’re a fan of the Anglo-Saxons - you wouldn’t happen to be speaking Old English here, would you? I believe that the Anglo-Saxon word ‘soon’ does, in fact, mean ‘now’ (clearly the Anglo-Saxons weren’t quite so prompt as all that and so the meaning changed over time!).
