Will we be able to mod the warscore-limit from battles? Currently there's a (hardcoded?) cap at 25ish.
Result: you can win a 100 battles, yet occupying a few provinces grants you more warscore.

I mentioned a few times in the past about ideas for new or changing existing technologies. I know the answer's probably not, but was the tech system or were some of the technologies edited in any way?

Yes, some were. Industry and commerce ones mainly. Bonuses spread more evenly and so forth. Few no brainer techs exist anymore.

Can you change your type of government peacefully like HM Government to a democracy through event or popular movement? Thanks in advance.

No, but I agree there would ideally be some way to do this, even just for gameplay reasons.

Will we be able to mod the warscore-limit from battles? Currently there's a (hardcoded?) cap at 25ish.
Result: you can win a 100 battles, yet occupying a few provinces grants you more warscore.

As far as I know this is still the same, but I've never come across the situation you have described. For example, if fighting against Russia, warscore is hard to come by through occupation but relatively easy by slaughtering their troops.

I think sometimes players (myself included) are not conscious of the fact their own style of play might be the reason for some of the results they see. This is not meant as a criticism, just something to bear in mind.

It's been mentioned/shown that techs get cheaper the longer they've been available. What kind of magnitude for the discount are we talking about? Is it linear or exponential?

How are the Taiping implemented in the 1861 scenario? Not, presumably, as a country (since no new nations have been added), but as rebels, something else, not at all (which would be very disappointing, given the foreign meddling and the sheer number of people involved in that conflict)?

I played Sweden recently and found myself to be constantly at war with Russia. I always bleed them dry in well fortified defensive positions. I gather a warscore of at least 200 due to battles. However, the cap is at 25. By the time I have conquered enough provinces to significantly raise warscore, they have already recruited a gazillion new divisions. This is the major problem with the warscore cap for battles. It should be at least 50 with lower gain. Late-game you get +20 warscore from single battles. Reduce that and raise the cap, then actual battles will contribute more.

I doubt that's a playstyle-thing. It's more a matter of whom you fight. Against small countries, this problem ain't that bad.

How are the province files set up to have the change in owner and controller?

they have 2 entries, one for each start date.

Since there's a factory button on the provincial view, is it possible that factories are slightly more efficient if the resources they need are produced locally?

Sadly no.

It's been mentioned/shown that techs get cheaper the longer they've been available. What kind of magnitude for the discount are we talking about? Is it linear or exponential?

Linear.

Taiping's not included. I suspect this was a cost/benefit thing; setting up Taiping requires a hell of a lot of balance and work (trust me, I've done it) which would have detracted from the systemic features which the devs were focusing on, and probably wouldn't have been tested thoroughly in time for release. The fact is, it's better to have a dozen new features for every nation in the world, than to spend the time on a single event chain for one nation which most people won't actually play.

Well, i just checked the highest WS to takea russian province is 35, so if you occupy the province you want... you should be fine, unless we get greedy

Nooooooo! I was so excited for Taiping... How fast can you get PDM to work on AHD?

But to be on topic: Are there more factory types? I feel consumer goods and late game goods are a bit neglected in vanilla.

A bunch of things related to economics. Yes, I'm looking at you, Naselus :D

Have the supply-demand-price dynamics been changed? Is it actually possible for supply and demand to meet at any other level than the base price?

Is there any input flexibility (substitution) on the production side? Like, for example, can you choose to make canned food either out of meat or fish depending on which is cheaper and more available, rather than having to have both?

And, from one modder to another, which hardcode change to the economy would you think most significant?

substitution has been looked at and is both very complex and hard to implement effectively for the current world market, so I made the call not to waste time on it.

How are the province files set up to have the change in owner and controller?

Just add new information in a date tag, e.g:
Code:
1861.1.1 = { railroad = 3 }
1861.1.1 = {
	state_building = {
		level = 1
		building = paper_mill
		upgrade = yes
	}
}
(there's no actual need for the railway being separate there, it was just added via a script)

Do we have to already have Victoria II for AHD to work? If yes, will we have to uninstall the mods?

You do need V2, yes. As for mods, if they are just in the mod folder there's no need to uninstall them, although they might not work with AHD until they are updated. If you've been replacing files in the main folder it's safest to make a clean reinstall before installing AHD.
