SHAFE is confident that his forces can defeat the Soviet divisions on his front, but is concerned that engaging at less than overwhelming odds will needlessly bleed his troops. In the south, American and Canadian divisions begin their advance into Italy.

Oh, I suspect that the AI has had plenty of time to disregard all of Kan's careful planning at this point.

When you say the Russian are starting to arrive in numbers - you mean 30 and 40 divisions at a time? or do you mean 3 or 4 Divisions at a time?
Also have you needed to increase your numbers of transport and escorts (re supply overextension problems)?

3 or so divisions per front line province. Nothing I can't beat, but I'd prefer to wait and overwhelm them, so as to not take significant casualties. I've been building transports and escorts since I took over the game, but it still not enough. I'm mostly worried about my TC, which will be much better once I liberate France and Spain.

Actually, I have a good deal of partisan activity. France was annexed to the USSR, so I get occupation penalties. It makes no sense, but that's what the game engine says.
