I'm play a game as the golden horde, deep in Germany. Making good progress until I started getting spammed by Bohemia, telling me they want provinces back. If I refuse, I get -1 stability EACH TIME I refuse, and they ask me every week it seems.

They have lost and reacquired the whole of Poland twice now; and they didn't own it to begin with - all in 10 years, to boot. If I refuse, there's no negative side effects for them, and everyone just keeps voting for them.

It doesn't seem right that the HRE can request the whole of Germany within a years time, with no consequences to themself. Its really mucking me down as towards advancement, and I don't even understand why. I'm not even in the HRE. My nomads are upset that I'm not handing my acquisitions over to some weakling qausi-empire from a different culture and religion?

I don't think its going to be possible to beat them. They just keep getting bigger and bigger. Only way I can think of is to peace with them, wait for the truce to end, and spend about 15 years annexing them. Derp!

Also, their propositions keep making me truce with random HRE members and give their land back.

They went from a 2 province minor to taking back almost half the country, just through the event! Note that Brunswick, Anhalt, Saxony, and Brandenburg were all released through the event. Not to mention the headaches involved when Pommerania was given back 2 provinces every month. And the 8 or so times they released provinces in the former Teutonic Order region.

As has been mentioned before, dismantle the HRE in the HRE screen. It will be available if you vassalise/occupy the capital of every HRE elector and the emperor.

That event is a royal pain in the arse though. Normally you can avoid it just be spending 1 magistrate and a little prestige removing each province from the HRE vie provincial decisions but you have to not be at war to be able to do it. Big trouble for a horde.

Very impressive by the way. Are you simply hoping not to have a new ruler in the next 60 years? dat succession crisis!

Well, I was counting on having a 423k strong army by that time. Sadly, all this demanding back my provinces has set my economy back to the point where I can't make new armies regularly.

Horde always has peace conditions from border wars. I've been removing provinces from the empire, but I only get .60+ magistrates a year. I have , though, removed most of the HRE's major population centers, such as Wien, Franken, Ostenprusseinblfaannpuffen, etc

Also, I can't destroy the HRE. I have to have borders with Mantua first, and the treat with Burgundy and the forced treaty with Brandenburg to end. My land in Germany is shrinking so fast, I don't think it will be possible. This really needs to be fixed, its so very pointless. I mean, if Bohemia were the only person left in the HRE they could still become massive by demanding every province in Germany and all HRE provinces outside it. In a matter of one year they've almost accumulated all of central Germany through this decision, despite being a government in exile! And they are able to demand back provinces the second a horde takes it from them.

Several mods remove the stability hit for Formal Request, as it makes absolutely zero sense for a non-HRE member to be 'destabilized' just because the king annexed part of Pommerania. I have no idea what they were thinking putting a stability hit in there, it's ridiculous. Like the Tartars give two pennies what the Bohemian king thinks about anything.

Ah, yes. The infamous "A Formal Request" event, the source of much discussion and rage. It doesn't make -too- much sense that a nation that is A. Muslim, and B. A Horde, suffers instability due to their Khan refusing to hand land back to some infidel claiming to be both 'holy' and an 'emperor'. It would've been nice if there were various versions of the event meant to be fired under different circumstances, but oh well!

Anyways, just dismantle the HRE and you'll be golden. Shouldn't be too hard, given you've already eaten (and are in the process of occupying) a huge chunk of Germany.

It really shouldn't fire at all for non-HRE members, a different even for non-HRE Christians, which just gives the emperor a CB, should be implemented. No one else should EVER get a formal request. It's ridiculous, the Osymuns and Khaganates had zero concern for the legal pretensions of some fat-faced German punk. Despite the growing power of the Europeans in the 14th century, the Khanates still considered themselves the Lords of the Earth and held Europe to be poor and backward compared to the states in China, the Near East and India. And they were (which is actually somewhat represented, at game start before the trade and tech differentials set in, Vijayanagar could smack most European countries around).

This is the same sort of problem with a global Infamy. Like the Ming emperor is going to get upset over Leicester conquering Iberian territories.

The alternative is that as soon as you take a province remove it from the HRE. There is a magistrate option to do so.

You could, I suppose try to concentrate on occupying all the electors and the emperor, and just disband the HRE, but it could be slightly tricky to have all them at once

As big as you are, you could probably easily afford to DoW a fellow horde and sit on them without going to peace until such time as you have finished eating the empire. This should count as being at war and prevent the event from firing. Worst case you release / cancel vassals with Nogai then DoW and just sit with them completely occupied.
