some custom Silver Legion flags. Trying to avoid the whole "pin the symbol on the stars and stripes" thing. 1) is based on the New England flag, 2) is based on the third national flag of the CSA.

here's another possible idea for fascist silver legion USA. according to its wiki (link below), the L was "an emblem meant to symbolize Loyalty to the United States, Liberation from materialism, and the Silver Legion itself". sort of the all for one, one for all ideal, but to replace the similarity through individuality look of each star being a state.

I think the rune is a little too modern. You could easily go with the plain imperial flag.

It's historical, is still used by Russian nationalists, and has the same colors as the Russian Fascist Party.

I'll come with some proposals for Norway's flags.

Democratic and Neutral

Communist
I base it on the flag of the Norwegian communist party. The symbols could also be centered, but I prefer it off-center.

Fascist

The Norwegian fascist/nazi party that came to power after German occupation, used the old Norwegian colours, red and gold/yellow. This flag is kinda boring and may conflict with other flags so i prefer the second one. The second one also looks the most fascist.

This flag basically, but without all the scratches and effects. Couldn't bother editing it myself.

I wouldn't like it if the communist and fascist flag was just the normal Norwegian flag with a hammer and sickle or a lightning bolt in it. That's just a bit too lazy IMO.

The Danish National Socialist Party was quite... unusual. They were led by a WW1 veteran and veterinarian, Frits Clausen, who was extremely patriotic, pro-monarchy and anti-German. They probably wouldn't have changed the Danish flag.

The photo I have of their flag would break the rules. I would be will to pm it to a few of you. You could make one similar that wouldn't break the forum rules. Hey, I prefer historical ones too, but let people innovate, someone could think about a fabulous design! For instance, I hardly would give up the communist Belgium flag by Verdinu for a historical flag.

Just a little passion. I can see the Paradox Artist just looking at this thread and thinking 'they must know what they are talking about' and using some modern/fantasy stuff. I have volunteered to do the research. It would be historical. I do think some compromises would be needed and filling in some of the blanks with made up stuff when no historical flag exist. But when it does and when it would work the historical flag should be used. So I think people making this fantasy stuff is B.S. and harmful to a good HOI IV.

It is fine if they want to make a flag mod and put any flags they like!!!! I just don't want it in the main game.

That flag with the rune on it was quite a bit different than the RNU symbol you posted in this post.

The RNU symbol is too close to a swastika. It will attract entirely the wrong elements into the thread, so I am exorcising it from the thread.

Keep in mind that I have to deal with whining like "They posted the RNU symbol and it's kind of like a swastika. Why can't I post a swastika and spew my antisemitic hatred while denying the Holocaust in this other thread?"

And no, I have no idea why the appearance of swastikas suddenly brings out the trolls and neo-Nazis. If you only knew what I had to police sometimes.

I agree on the colours but I feel it should differ a little from the plain Russian Imperial flag. A coat of arms or variation in style at least.

Using the same symbols used by the Russian Fascist Party in my now removed link, among them the diamond shape, I played around with and made these three:

I guess the diamond shape could include the other variant they have with the one that looks like this sign:

EDIT: I regret I didnt make it like that sign. If you want to know what I mean then go to the Wikipedia article on the Russian Fascist Party and squint so you dont see the Swastika in the middle
