The KKK had almost faded from America (like it has today (other Racist groups have taken over)) when Pres. Wilson, a Democrat, revitalized the KKK. Pres. Wilson was the writer for the movie 'Birth of a Nation' which is a very pro-KKK movie.

Like I said, I'm reaching. I should have put "fascist" in quotation marks. Still, a lot of Victoria 2 flag mods seem to use the KKK symbol for fascist US flags. It certainly looks better than the SL flag.

He was not the screenwriter for Birth of a Nation.

Wilson wrote a book called History of the American People which was quoted in the movie. Wilson's racist views could be found in his book, but do not confuse your history here. Wilson's racism is not the same thing as Wilson being a screenwriter or playwright in this regard.

You are right, I was typing fast, I should have said 'the writer behind the movie'. I did know he was not the screenwriter, as in involved in the actual making of the movie. As his writings were a major influence on the movie.

I'm not sure the USA should have a flag change for fascism, actually. A hyper-nationalist USA would probably keep the Stars and Stripes.

It might depend on what flavor of fascism took power, but unless it was a fanatically religious theocratic fascism, there's no reason to change the flag. Most of the hyper-nationalist semi-fascist groups in the USA (aside from the post-war Nazi Party of the US) were of the "USA for USA, screw the foreigners!" type. They weren't really going to be big on the swastika, the axe-symbol of fascism, or other iconography.

Unless you think the Black Legion would have taken over the USA. In which case, the flag would change to what these guys were wearing:

We haven't seen how civil wars work yet, but what if they are fought like the Spanish civil war in Hoi3? Then you would have two sides using the same flag! I agree that in reality American fascists would keep old glory, but for gameplay I think a different flag would be better.

That's the very reason why the CSA stopped using the "stars and bars," to avoid a flag that looked to much like the one they were fighting.

What about some sort of variation on the Presidential seal? It seams that there's a lot of speculative fascist flags that use eagles, and fascist governments seem to focus on placing more authority in the hands of an executive power. Feels like it could work.

The U.S. has long had Fascist iconography as part of our government as the founders based much of our government on the Roman Republic.

I am not saying they would have added it to the flag. I don't think they would have, but if you have to have a different flag it is much more likely than a KKK symbol or a swastika. Party flags like the Silver Legion flag are different from national flags. Germany did adopt the party flag & the Soviets were internationalist Communists and not just Russians, so the Russian flag would not work for them.

So, since white-blue-black are the colours of fascism in Finland (or were in the period) and anti-communists weren't fans of red colour, this would make sense for a fascist flag, at least if Paradox wants different flags for all ideologies.

Denmark could use the Kalmar flag when they are fascist, it would make sense. The first of those communist flags is also great!

I think stars fit the flag perfectly, so it's better than hammer & sickle. White stars would fit the flag better but then it wouldn't feel so communistic..

Yes, I think it is something new to be made to look old. I think the paper is too good condition to be old & have that many stains on it. No small printers info. Alaska & Hawaii were not states in 1932. I do not think it is from 1932!
