Hello,
I have a few ideas for UI tweaks to make things a little easier to follow and think about.
  • Monarch points cap indicator: When hovering over the monarch points at the top of the screen, could it tell us what month it is expected to reach the cap? This would help with being able to plan out when to develop, when to get ideas, when to tech up, etc. We have something similar for when we are expecting to to be able to get technology and ideas so it doesn't seem out of the realm of possibility.
  • When hovering over another country, could it tell us our relative strength to them? This is similar to when selecting a rival, the game tells us army and navy strength as a percentage of our own. I'd like to see something like that for any country I hover over. This would help when determining whether warfare is worthwhile or not - I can hover over an enemy and all of his allies to quickly decide if I can take the fight.
  • When at war with an enemy, on the peace screen, can the game show if the enemy is willing to give up the war goal? Instead of having to go all the way to the negotiation screen, I'd like to just see if I can get my war goal at a glance. I might want to continue fighting for more, but I would like to know when the AI has given up.

I agree with all of these except the last one. Seems like it would be open to exploits. I especially like the third idea. I don't like having to free up a diplomat just to see if I can peace out an enemy. I think there should be a little white flag or something next to a country's shield on the war overview screen if they are willing to at least white peace.

Yeah. I wasn't sure about whether or not I should include the last one. It almost fits into this sort of discussion, but on further thinking, I don't think it does exactly. Victoria 2 has something similar and the AI seems more intelligent now with the returning unlawful territory mechanic so I thought it might work. I removed the idea since it isn't really relevant with the others.
