There are two thing which have been on my mind since the release of the game about scientists and how they are handled. These are just some thoughts I had and probably don't add much gameplay wise but more gamefeel wise if you understand me
1, Why are scientists part of the ruling government?
Unless its a technocracy a scientist really should be in the lab doing research not conducting empire wide politics. I imagine the person in charge of empire physics research for example being more like the person who delegates budget to state labs where the scientist work. He himself doesn't have to be a scientist but more a political figure.
In our world this is called a Minister and I think that's a more suitable name for the position in game.
2, Science ship captain is too small a role for grand strategy
Why are the captains leading my 3 puny science vessels politically on par with the person leading empire society research or the person governing the core sector?
I understand its not going to happen because its already too engraved in the game but I think science captains should be removed as a leader character. I would keep them in the game as something that's auto created when building a science ship and then permanently attached to that ship. They would still gain experience and suitable traits so they still tell a story just not a political one.
Well that's my two cents. As said nothing game changing just some thoughts I had.
