I have tried both the demo and the beta and have been convinced to pre-order the game.

However, there are a few things that bug me and I would like to see fixed. Some of these may already be fixed as I have been going off of the beta.

1) I would like the ability to build metro stations diagonally. In the beta, Vienna has a lot of roads aligned diagonally which causes real problems when placing elevated and ground level stations.

2) Adjust the length of metro trains. I think we if could reduce the length of the trains (maybe even trams too) then it we could save maintenance costs. Naturally, the shorter the train the less passengers it can take, and no one likes over crowded trains.

It then gives you the choice of running shorter trains more frequently or longer trains less frequently.

3) Spacing between buses/trams/trains. One of the biggest problems with this game is the fact if there is a minor traffic jam or a broken down train. All the other trains soon catch up to it and then you have 6 vehicles one after the other for the rest of the game. Whilst this will ring true for one round trip, the starting point of each trip should hold vehicles back until they are suitably spaced again. An algorithm could be along the lines of:

Journey time: 2 minutes
Vehicles on line: 4
Spacing: 30 seconds
Vehicle in front distance: 10 seconds
Wait - 20 seconds

This would mean any delays on a system are wiped with only minor knock-on effects. Currently, a train breaks down and for ever and ever the trains are all bunched up. There is no easy fix for this.

4) Poor queuing AI on metro trains. I have two metro lines. Each line has about 15 stations for a 30 station round trip. The two lines run separately EXCEPT at one station, where all trains converge before splitting again. A train from Line 1 is on the platform. A train from Line 2 comes up behind and stops before the tracks from Line 1 converge (so as not to block the route). Then a train from line 1 comes. Once the first train clears the platform, the line 1 train then moves into the platform even though the line 2 train has been waiting longer.

If the aforementioned backlog of trains from an earlier breakdown occurs, the train from Line 2 will sit their idly until the backlog of all Line 1 trains has cleared before moving off; thus creating a huge backlog of trains on Line 2.

5) More passengers in general. I personally don't feel there is enough passengers using the transportation. I think it should be increased to at least 50%, with some vehicles increasing there capacity (a 6-car metro holds only 90 people for instance).

I think that's it for now, but I will be sure to add more if I have any other ideas.

the spacing thing has been discussed a few times. there are some tips and tricks about how to space vehicles manually but hopefully something will be done in a later patch or something.
