I have a few things I would like to share and hear your opinion on.
1. Occupation stripes
I'm not really sure if these are already in the game, but I think they would be useful to look at a war's situation at a quick glance. This would be useful for those fighting in the war and those who care about the outcome. If there are multiple colonized planets and stations and only a few are occupied/destroyed, perhaps interrupted stripes could be used, like in CK2 if only the top holding is occupied. The stripes would cover the area that's under the influence of a star system.
2. Renaming leader titles
We're able to rename almost everything, from rulers to our empire. It stands out to me that you can't change your ruler's title from Emperor to World-Consumer, for example. This seems like a small thing to add.
3. Federations and vassals on the map
It appears that Paradox is willing to add mapmodes if need be, but perhaps there is a way to quickly convey information another way.
Vassals could be represented the same way substates were in Victoria 2. Where you could see the borders of that substate, but not the name. In the case of Stellaris, the icon and name placement of the overlord treats a vassal the same way as if it were part of its own territory. So instead of showing 2 names on the map, it would show 1 (the overlord).
As for Federations, it would show not the seperate states' names and icons, but that of the Federation. The name would once again span the entirety of the collective states, and perhaps the icon above the name would be the one belonging to whoever is in charge at that point.
As for a quick way to show alliances.. I'm not sure. I hope someone else has a good idea for this.
I hope people are able to understand what I mean, but if you have questions or something that needs clearing up, please ask.
