I'm playing Eire in the Grand Campaign amd I have a few questions:

I was allied with France, Scotland and a few more when France declared war against England. I joined up and managed to fight off the english army but took heavy losses. Was this because I met two named generals (Talbot and Warwick I think)? Anyway, i occupied Meath and tried to sue for peace with England but they refused. Suddenly France declared war against Aragon and Portugal and I chose no when they asked me to join. A year later France and England sued for peace and I got Heath out of that agreement. My question, why was I included in that peace treaty as I wasn't in the alliance with France anymore?

About Center of Trades, I just got a message that I had competed that I had competed for trade in Alexandria and Nubia lost a merchant. The problem is I never sent a merchant to Alexandria. Is this a bug or is there another explanation for it?

You got Meath because you were in the alliance with France when the war started. If you leave that alliance and the war isn't over , you fight in the same war with France in the side of France so when France decides to make peace as the leader of the alliance they can give you any of the province(s) that you occupied.

Ok, thanks. I have another question :).. In my second war against England I received Wales, Lancashire and Lincoln. In Lincoln there are some troops that the game says are English but they have a flag with no colors or marks. They just stand there in my territory (7K infantery). Who are they and how can I make them leave my land?

just wait and they will leave (if they have clear path to home territory).

Do you have autosend merchants on? Other than that I can't figure a way (unless you sent a merchant there by accident) for a merchant to appear in Alexandria.

They are english stranded in your country. If they are able, they will go back home, if they can't, they'll sooner or later die of attrition up there.

No I do it manually but I might have slipped with my mouse when I was checkit it out and perhaps clicked send merchant. I've done that in other windows when setting slider etc so that's a possibility.

Yes, after a year they started moving and the english flag came back as soon as the were on the move. I've given up Eire for now, just when I had beaten England Scotland declared war on me with all thei allies. I seem to be losing battle where I have like 10k infantry and my enemy 1K infantry, no named leaders, we have the same value for land troops and the same morale when the battle starts and still my morale drops to panic in 2 seconds and my army flees. Why does that happen?

Are you attacking or defending? Attacking across rivers and into mountains/forests gives pretty bad penalties to the attacker.

Have you remembered to reset your land troop maintenance slider to 100% (assuming you went to 50% to save money during peace time)? This affects morale.

Depending upon the amount of time that has passed, Scotland and her allies may have a higher land technology level, giving them an advantage in combat. Combat in the early part of the game often results in unusual losses, because you have so little morale (meaning the actual, numerical value) to begin with, so you can experience quick routs even with superior numbers. I started a thread complaining about this not long ago. In the early part of the game, don't fight battles. Instead, out manoeuver the enemy and besiege provinces of his. You can usually do so more efficiently than he can yours, allowing you to make a favorable peace. :)

Yes, maintenance at 100 % and land technology at the same level. I'll try your tactic next game :).
