So i ve just installed Legacy of Rome dlc and i have a few questions.

1)Could someone explain the "liege levies"

I read that you can you raise levies only from your direct vassals. So if I have a count with a castle and under him a baron a bishop and a mayor, the amount of the troops that i ll receive is not related to his vassals opinion of me...do i even get a fixed percentage of his vassals levies or just from my direct vassal. How exactly are the available levies from my vassal's vassals calculated.

Two things i ve noticed so far

a)I have a duke(vassal) with 4 holdings(counties) and he has numerous vassals under him.I added up all his demesne levies and i came up with the number 2700.
In his liege levies tab it says that i can recruit 2800.Since i know i have 100 relations with him and 100%from laws the 2800 is a combination of his personal levies plus what he can raise from his vassals.

b)When i raise the levies the garrisoned troops numbers do not drop.So if my castle has 500 garrison and 500 levies and i raise my levies...if somebody besieges me i he will have to face 1000 or 500
The above applies only to my vassals. My personal holding's levies are removed as usual

None of your questions have anything to do with the LoR DLC, they're all base game 1.07.

How levies work in 1.07 is explained in the dev diary here -> http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?633171-Legacy-of-Rome-Dev-Diary-2 (this is linked in the stickys at the top of the forum).

Ok so you are rigth about 1.07
But...I ve read the Dev Diary and no they do not answer my questions.I get the general idea but i have i d like some clarifications.
In fact and in there is a post there page 11 post 220 that asks pretty much the same questions as me and nobody answered.

I'm a bit confused with levy numbers. It seems that things have changed quite a bit since 1.06 at the barony level.

Example: A Baron who is my direct vassal (opinion 100) and has a castle with a levy size of 1000. Empire Feudal Levies Law is set to Maximum.

In 1.06: When I raise his levies I get 1000 men (pretty sure that's what I used to get) and the little green/red bar on the right hand side in the castle goes away. The castle now only defends against sieges with its garrison - which is for example 1000 men.

In 1.07: When I raise his levies I get 500 men. The green bar is reduced but the castle still shows as having 1000 men (the red bar doesn't change) so any sieges against it would require 2000 men. So raising the levy didn't change the defense of my vassal's holding.

P.S. Not playing with the DLC.

Could someone reply to mine and his questions
