Hey all.

I haven't installed the Tourism or In-Dome packs yet. I just learned about them a couple days ago. My game has Green Planet, Space Race, and all other stuff up to last spring / summer. I haven't updated since then. I am curious about a few things before I decide whether to grab the new content.

1) If I get the new content, will I still be able to play my existing save games and colonies? Or will I have to start all over?

2) What are the stats on the Smart Apartments, Hospital, and Large Nursery?

3) Are these new updates stable or full of bugs? Any game breaking bugs?

4) Will tourism actually be useful, or is it still low reward and a pain to deal with? I completely ignore tourism in my games because the tourists don't become permanent residents and their cash is rather low for the investment in infrastructure for them.

Any info is appreciated. It will help me decide whether to grab the new content or stick with what I already have.

1) Generally yes, there is some instability or at least was, for example that you couldn't make the new RC rovers I think.

2) Check the Wiki I think. Remember this is paid DLC, you need to buy it.

3) Full of bugs, they've fixed some but many still remain broken, furthermore many of the new features such as the RC Safari just work terribly because they are coded in a way that often tourists in the dome nearby simply aren't close enough as their range is very small but also that tourists will frequently get a penalty for 'No RC safari' because its en route, they then give up for the day.

4) No, its a good idea in principle, but badly implemented. Like I said the RC safari is a main culprit, but the rest of the tourism changes are shallow at best. You get a couple of new buildings designed to satisfy tourism interest. In general tourists will pay more if they have a 'good time' on Mars and less if they don't. Problem is that it pretty much eliminates tourism early game as you need techs to get buildings and resources needed to satisfy tourists. Late game who cares about the micro of it.

If you haven't updated I'd recommend sticking to the stable build and avoiding the changes, you aren't missing much at all.

Thanks. I just get a bit worried cuz I don't want to go and update, then end up having my great on-going games / colonies end up corrupted or messed up or unplayable if the new content isn't awesome.

I'll stick with the version I have and wait for the new expansion that I heard about. Not sure if it's rumor or actually happening though.
