I started a game first as England, but figured it was to big for started and switched to Denmark instead. I messed around a bit and now have a few questions.

Workforce. Denmark produce beef, corn and fish. All ofthem have a number liker 1/5 or 2/5 behind them. I assume that the first number is the number of PoPs working in them and the last is the maximum. I also have 3 factories wich are all 5/5 and I assume fully staffed.

1. What is the differnce between labourers and farmers? They both seem to work in RGO's.

2.Does it matter if a Pop have 5k or 10k labourers in it? Does it produce more with higher numbers?

3. The tooltip says I can split a pop if it is atleast 40k. If I split a pop of craftsmen or clerks and all my factories are full on people, will they be unemployed or will they "downrank" into farmers or laboueres or will I have to do that manually?

4. Do they autmatically increase over timer and will they automatically split if a PoP gets to big?

5. If they get unemployed is there anyway I can see that so I can change them into something I need?

6. If I downgrade a craftsman to a labourer how do I know which RGO he will be working at, since ther is several provinces in one are with fatories? Also why can I only convert into labouers and not farmers? I figured farmers might need some items, but there is not even a greyed out box for it.

7. What are slaves and clergys usefull for?

Military
8. What does it means, when I click my military and it says Dug-In 8?

9. The toortip for railroad says it improves transport capacity of military units. What does that mean? Does my army moves faster? Can I build cars, trains etc to move them faster?

Misc

10. Does it matter where I produce and item or will tobacco produced in America be instantly ready for consumption in Europe? Andif no, will railways and ships help?

11. Do I build trains or just railways?

12. When playing England I got loads of popup boxes about different states of corruption around in the colonies and as Denmark, even Århus got a red "trusts" icon in the province. Why did I get that mark and does it mean anything? I still got 0% revoltrisk.

13. In the upper right corner ther is an Icon that syas my DI. What is DI and what do I use it for?

14. When I was England some of my pop was complaining about not haveing enough of certain gods. Do I need to import stacks of more or less all goods in the world to keep them happy or is it some other way to fix it?

15. Machine parts. They are needed to build factories. But how do you get them? When I cheched the world map after 2,5 months play there was only 1 machine part for sale in the entire world. Also I could not build a factory that produces machineparts so how do you get them?

I think that is all I wonder for right now. Probably think of more later. Hope someof you can answer atleast some of them.

1) In practice no difference. They spontaneously change to the appropriate type for the RGO of the province they are in.

2) Yes, a larger POP produces more, but it's a step-wise increase and it's not linear, so a smaller POP is in general more productive per capita.

3) They will be unemployed, and may move to a state where there is a job available to them.

4) POPs will automatically split to 75k/25k when they reach 100k.

5) The best way to check for unemployed POPs is in the ledger, page 6. You can sort the columns by clicking on the column headers.

6) You can only downgrade to the type appropriate for the POP's home RGO.

7) Slaves work in RGOs without getting payed and without paying taxes. Clergy help lower consciousness of the lower classes, which can be usefull sometimes. Edit:Clergy also provide research points, but once you research Darwinism this ability will be toned down (and the RP generation of Clerks boosted).

8) It's the level of 'dug-in' bonus they get if attacked. Edit: it represents field fortifications and prepared defensive positions.

9) They just move faster.

10) It doesn't matter. Edit: You must however have convoys assigned to convoy duty, or overseas provinces won't produce anything.

11) Just railways.

12) You can get rid of corruption by funding your crime fighting fully in the budget.

13) Diplomatic points. It's how many diplomatic actions you have available to you.

14) The POPs buy the stuff themselves if they can. You can help them by making sure your country has a high ranking.

15) Only the UK produces them at first and only very little. But you can get some from industrial techs and inventions, and later you get the tech for building the factory as well.
