Some of the colonial regions seem to be lacking any possible formable nations or have few formables available, despite their large size. I think that it would be proper to add a few more formable nations in the Americas. I would suggest the following:
Cuba - Haiti is currently the only formable nation in the Carribean;
Texas - it may not have been independent for long, but it has some historical basis and Colonial Mexico often ends up with colonies of multiple nations;
Califormia - the California region has no formables;
Alaska - same as above;
Uruguay - Brazil is a huge region and could use two formable states;
Missisipi/Missouri - a second colonial nation for Louisiana;
Florida - a second nation for Thirteen Colonies, obviously, USA should be chosen istead if available, but the region often ends up in the hands of 2 or more nations.

Brilliant suggestions. Every one of them is justified.

I especially despise USA being often formed in Florida :p
Happened in my last game, when the Dutch colony in Florida became independent. Then, a few decades later, I helped the Thirteen Colonies become independent, but they had no nation to form.

That game also saw two French colonies in Lousiana become independent - the first became Louisiana and then the French created a second one, which became independent and for some reason immediately became a lesser partner in union under Louisiana. There was also Canada, Quebec and an independent Newfoundland in Canadian region (plus my own colony) and Mexico was split between Mexico, UPCA, a Portugese Colony and three Nahuatl minors.

...But Chile is already a formable nation in Colonial La Plata. And Venezuela is already one in Colonial Colombia, too.
Are they? I did not know that. I knew at least Chile pops up at the end of the history logs, but I didn't know Venezuela.

I also heard that Canada has Quebec, but the AI rarely forms Quebec

To form Venezuela, you must own all its provinces and have your capital there. The same for Chile, Quebec and Centroamerica. That's why you barely see them form. The AI most often doesn't qualify for these requirements.

I agree, especially on the Texas one. We need to make sure these nations have their own idea groups, as well as the current formable nations.

The whole colonial formables could use an overhaul; there's no reason the USA is geographically constrained to the Thirteen Colonies, Louisiana isn't going to make sense being named as it is 9 times out of 10, and Brazil was only called Brazil due to specific circumstances (though more generic names like Canada and Chile which nobody knows the etymology of are ok). Culture-specific, or semi-random names would be nice. Say, Atlantis popping up here or there, or (north/south) Columbia, or (north/south) America. Caribbean could be one idea.

But anyway, overall idea of adding more to form is good; colonial nations retaining their unbelievably colonial names is really annoying.
