Plenty of my changes have been included in 1.06 which is absolutely fantastic, so thank you very much Paradox.
However, here are a few remaining issues:
~ This is a good post by Schnee0 listing a number of database errors.
~ I believe that Kurdish currently has no cultural building, making it the only (?) culture not to. This can be easily fixed by changing culture = persian to culture_group = iranian in 00_buildings.txt
~ c_aprutium is still bugged -- it has two sets' worth of province history in.
~ I would suggest moving the duchy of Cornwall to the kingdom of Brittany -- this makes sense on several levels: Wales is currently three duchies whilst Brittany is only one, so this would balance them out; Cornwall's two provinces are Breton culture (as are Brittany's of course) whilst the two other Welsh duchies' are both Welsh culture. I dislike the idea of a one-duchy kingdom, and Brittany also seems to have the modern Cornish flag as its coat of arms anyway. All in all, I'd say this is a fairly sensible balance change.
~ You probably already know this, but Brittany was never part of the Frankish realm, and being what it is culturally I do think Brittany would make more sense in Britannia than Francia.
~ Why are the three Plantagenet Edwards still kings of Wales? They weren't and they shouldn't be, especially as Wales can only be formed by Celtic rulers. Leave the file blank or have Gruffydd ap Llywelyn as the only king:
The issue here is that none of these men ever claimed to be king of Wales, and on the contrary it was absorbed into England (a long process ending with Henry VIII) and Welsh laws and customs were actively suppressed. This is like giving the kings of France the crowns of Brittany and Aquitaine just because they were at times overlords of those realms.
~ Only a minor issue, but whilst the county and kingdom of León are spelled correctly, the duchy is called Léon.
~ I've reported this before, but Nice should be a vassal of Provence and not Genoa, nor should it be a de jure part of Genoa. It should also be Occitan culture, but I guess you've decided to keep it Italian. It should definitely be a de jure part of the duchy of Provence and the kingdom of Burgundy though.
~ If you load up as William the Conqueror in the second 1066 scenario you'll see that whilst Morcar controls a few provinces in the north and has a few vassals, his brother Eadwine only has one province, Lancaster. This is because the rest of his provinces are set to become William's on 1066.12.6 -- the problem here is that it totally cripples Eadwine because he has no power base and essentially no duchy.
This is what the file for c_lancaster looks like:
This is correct, because it gives Eadwine his county whilst he's duke. The files for c_chester and c_derby are incorrect however, as they give William those titles as soon as he becomes king. My suggestion would be to give Eadwine the provinces and vassals of the de jure duchy of Lancaster until 1072.1.1 -- this would let him and his brother fully control the north of England and pose the proper threat to the Normans that they ought to in the years immediately following the Conquest. You should also give Morcar c_lincoln and c_leicester until 1070.1.1
~ Also, Leofwine Godwinson is earl of Kent, Surrey and Sussex in 1066, the three provinces of the duchy of Kent. We're using duchies to represent the powerful Saxon earldoms, so why not make him duke of Kent until he loses those counties? There's no reason for him to be an earl whilst his fellow Saxon earls are dukes.
~ In breton.txt you've still got the members of the Capetian house of Dreux (dynasty=86) as Breton rather than Frankish culture. This is incorrect, particularly as they still have French names such as Jean. Incidentally Jean will also be unlinked. All characters with dynasty=86 should be Frankish culture and moved to frankish.txt
~ I've mentioned this before, but I think af Estrid would be a better alternative to Ylving (dynasty=487) and Hårfagre (in English, Fairhair) would be a better alternative to Yngling (dynasty=499). I'd never heard the word 'Yngling' before I'd played CK II and I doubt many other people had earlier.
~ Someone mentioned this in another thread, but it's a valid point: Charles IV of France (455414) is supposed to die on 1328.2.1 (the day Philip VI becomes king) but his current death date is 1330.2.1 -- this means if you start on the day Philip becomes king then Charles (the last direct Capetian) is still alive and well.
