((Haha never! Jk but I was worrying someone will think of this, Ill edit it, I've decided I'll only build the transylvania parts of the railroads. With the help of dadarian I think that ok right?))

((I don't really know how much you would have had to have relative to its cost, so I can't really say, but so long as it sounds reasonable it's fine by me [unless someone wants to look into how railways were actually funded and what the relative costs were...]))

Take a look! As you can see, I have made no changes to the existing lines but I have added new track to the East to better connect our Federation economically. This rail would not only link the coal mines of Galicia to the factories of Bohemia, but would also, through Transylvania, connect the entire East with Hungary. I urge my fellow councillors to either directly invest in this new comprehensive line, the Red ((I can't remember if that's been used already but it makes historical sense to call this one the Red line because Galicia is also referred to historically as "Red Ruthenia")) or, failing that, the Beige Line!
While I wholeheartedly support the extension of a line to Lemberg, I would like to remind you that the Carpathians prevent any connections not running through the Sudets.

((I don't really know how much you would have had to have relative to its cost, so I can't really say, but so long as it sounds reasonable it's fine by me [unless someone wants to look into how railways were actually funded and what the relative costs were...]))
((The data is pretty easily accessible, but the problem is finding what the heck it means with inflation and all that stuff. From the looks of it however, it's not the kind of things one guy can do on his own, especially not somebody who is responsible with his money.))

((Work has been a pain lately, so very inactive.))

Due to current stress levels in my personal life I would like to appoint Kostantyn Arkyakevitch acting Deputy Minister of War; and Generals Božidar Skala and Edvard Francois Masaryk as my staff for the time being. If Fausto Barsetti and Konrad Egeler would be willing, I'd also like to allow them onto the staff as to ensure the diversity of the military command.

-H. Mueller

I will gladly accept your offer, and, should war come, I will give everything I have into bringing about victory for our glorious Federation.

- Konrad Egeler

I have another proposal to add to this divvying up of our country's railways. I would like to direct the workers I represent to pool their resources and form a co-operative to run/operate, and/or own some of the railways of the Federation, at least the portions that go through our fine Croatia and Dalmatia. Would this be acceptable?

Is it at all possible to connect the Zagreb portion of the orange line with the light and/or dark blue lines to make it all circle around?

((No))

((Railways were usually funded either by the government or through joint-stock companies, but since we don't have enough of a developed economic system to use the stock market and we've ruled out complete government intervention the current plan makes the most sense. Mine is possible, just not too common))

((Well, the Liverpool and Manchester Line in 1830 cost £637,000 (£52,680,000 today) and goes a distance of around 30 miles; Venice to Dubrovnik would be over 500 miles and hence would cost £10,000,000 ( £824,000,000 today). I'm not convinced any one person could get anywhere near that figure...))

What if they get a splinter while on the job? Will they plea and threaten to sue if we don't give them compensation?

What would they do, sue themselves? They'd own the portion of the railway they worked on, at least potentially, and if they operate on other railways they would be simple employees. Also, if they were injured seriously on the job, such as having their legs or arms crushed, then hopefully basic compensation would be established due to my Federal Act passing, though the co-operative would most likely offer some compensation for its workers if they are seriously injured. And before you start saying that "people will start getting hurt on purpose for the money", for one, having your arm crushed hurts, it's not pleasant, and it all but destroys your future prospects for a job. Anyways, the proposal here would be allowing the railway workers to fund the railways, just in the same capacity as you do.
